Lanyard or no lanyard, that is the question.

Do you keep the lanyard on your CRK folders?

I go back and forth. Lately I've decided that the lanyard pin and lanyards that CRK nicely installed on my 3 regular Sebenzas (as they passed through the spa over the past couple of years), looks kind of out of place. I'm preferring nothing, or a simple loop of rawhide boot lace.

I'm going crazy with my lanyards. I've changed my lanyard three times since I owned this small sebenza. Had it for maybe three weeks. This one may stay on for a while. I do use my lanyard as an easier access to my knife while clipped to my pocket, but it's also an accessory to my knife. I think it adds character and it is a part of the sebenza.

I like the look of knives with lanyards... But have found that I can not stand trying to use a knife with a lanyard on it... it is always in the way, or rubbing against my hand or wrist. CAN'T STAND THEM!

Well.....at least now we are tied again at 54 votes.

Absolutely with! I need liked then before, but I've come to realize how easy it is to remove the knife from my pocket with it on.

Just started rocking mine without it. I think I like it better without, but I do like the looks of them with the lanyards, so Im torn also. Sorry if that doesn't help much...

Sheesh.....nothing is going to break the deadlock it seems. Out of 115 votes it's down to just one fella that likes the lanyard more than without. It is really amazing how evenly divided folks are on this question.

I like the lanyards...waiting on a zaan that I just bought-it's missing the lanyard but not for long!

To me it's aesthetically pleasing but also functional. I like to carry them in their sheaths so it's much easier to pull them out with the lanyard on.

Really like the ring on my Wilson, not much of a skull guy, but I wish I could find an acorn or something along those lines, I would definitely add that to my larger sebbies.

It's been about neck n' neck the whole way. I was at first expecting a far lager majority to be in the no camp, but if one peruses the picture threads you do see quite a few fobs and lanyards on those folders. :)

I didn't vote because I carry them both ways. The Sebenza's I carry in a pouch have the lanyards on to assist in removing them from the pouch. THe knives I carry in my pocket do not have lanyards on them.

I am not going to bump this thread again. At the time of writing this 120 people have voted. Exactly 60 for and 60 against. There is no clear preference, and my initial observation that there was an equal number of photos on this site with and without lanyards seems to have been eerily correct. With this knowledge, it would make some sense for CRK to make the lanyard holder on the large 21 and umnum captive, since half the folk out there are removing the lanyard. I wonder if CRK was aware of just how many people are removing the lanyard.

It's funny how stats work, out of the 7 or so people I know personally that carry a CRK not one of them uses a lanyard. Add the people I see passing through my friends knife shop to that list and I have probably seen 2 or 3 people with a fob or layard on their CRK out of a dozen or so. It is definitely not even close to the 50/50 we are seeing presented here.

I agree with you guys that say if you want a lanyard tie your own, Ideally lanyards should be used to ensure your knife from being lost during outdoor sporting activities ie: rock climbing, white water rafting, snow skying etc. Since I don't do alot of those activities I don't use a lanyard. I prefer my knives clipped to my belt for easy access.

I usually prefer to not use any lanyard but recently I have taken a liking to the type of leather lanyard that Scott Cook uses.

There needs to be a "sometimes" answer. :)

A proper lanyard can be of use when you may drop the knife and never see it again, such as over deep or fast water. The little 2" fobs that come on a CRK folder are useless to me and I don't like them on my knives at all.

This. After losing a knife in some boulders I use a long lanyard with a clasp.
