Do you attach lanyards to your folders?

You can pick one of these choices: Never, Rarely, Sometimes or Always.

If a knife came with one, I leave it on. If it doesn't, I don't put one on. I'll keep the setup the way it came.

For those who like lanyards on their folders, do you remove the pocket clip?

Never on folders. I just never found the need for one but I do like them on my fixed blades.

Depends on the knife for me. I went with sometimes.
I do like them though.

I like 'em. Certainly more of my knives don't have them than do, but that's more by default as they mostly come without and I just don't get to them all. I do prefer to have none on some knives as well. I think they provide an easy way to personalize a knife without getting into modding, though I've certainly done a fair amount of that too. I'm not into a lot of bling, but like to find a complementary cord and maybe a bead to add a little pizzaz. I also find having a pull on the knife helps out in certain situations or to overcome a stingy pocket clip.

I started a thread over here a little while ago to share pics and talk about lanyards, knots, beads, preferences, etc. It's gone a bit quiet, so anyone who'd like to chime in and share is most welcome.

I sometimes use them, possibly more often than others, because I rarely leave pocket clips on. Out of all my folders (~30), maybe 2-3 of them still have their clips. Probably have 7-8 w/ lanyards though.

I dislike lanyards on folders (my choice is never) but what I dislike even more is the lanyard hole as it blemishes the aesthetics. :)

I prefer it when there's a stand-off meant to be used similarly to a lanyard hole

One of my favorite things about having custom scales made is that I can get rid of the unsightly and pointless lanyard hole (pointless for me, as I'm a "never" voter).

Yes.

Sometimes the holes are just poorly designed/placed. For instance, the new Spyderco Para3 and Kizer Guru have the lanyard hole at the very bottom and thus the clip is clipped too far down resulting in too much of the folder sticking out when clipped and the handle longer than it needs to be.

I like lanyard pulls as they add some personalization and help draw a knife from my pocket, so depending on the knife and weather or not It can even have one I will put them on.

I call them lanyard pulls, and even though they technically fit the description of a fob I do not nor will I ever call them that. Every person on this forum knows what we mean when we say lanyard.

I like having a lanyard/pull on some folders. Sure helps on some knives.

Sorry about the small thumbnail photo. You can hover your mouse over photo and get a larger image. I am still working on the photo download process.

I add lanyards to my small Spydercos (mainly Dragonflies), which I carry clipless in my 5th jeans pocket. I usually don't put them on larger folders, but I do use the lanyard pin on my Sebenza, and actually added one to my Rockstead Hizen.
