Large animal skinning and boning knives. Prototypes.

eBay also adds to their cut by charging 13% of shipping fee, that's money that comes directly out of sellers pocket. Not right!

eBay takes their percentage from all of the following added up: (1) final price + (2) shipping charge + (3) sales tax which applies to (1) + (2).

The reason that they get away with this is because since they now have their own payment clearing system, they claim that there is nothing different about this than any credit card company which does the exact same if there is S&H.

Instead of playing bidding tiddlywinks, why don't you limp dicks place a bid!

I do love paying taxes on pre-owned <obscure thing from prior decades from somebody else's basement> with my tax-withheld income which I'll also be using to pay property and school taxes plus the balance on state and federal taxes which includes Ebay's 1099-k of my <obscure thing from prior decades from my basement> sale which I then must specify cost basis (where's the dang inflation adjustment box on my 1099k) like a chump

Those porotypes sure are sweet though

I honestly don't know how people turn a profit on ebay anymore. Especially on things like clothing (which used to be one of their main sellers). Etsy has gone the way of ebay in terms of fees as well, used to be much lower. Feels like if someone can manage their own website they would make similar profit even with a lot less sales.

They do get nice traffic though!

It’s all about exposure.

Self managed websites are great, but far less traffic and exposure.
