This was a commission that was recently finished and delivered. Here's a few photos of this beast.

It's a large bush sword in W2 with a blade at about 14 3/4" and an almost 8" handle including the guard.
At about 5/16" thick at the guard with distal taper and about 2 3/8" wide at the widest, this is a monstrous chopping knife. I took it out back for a few test whacks before the handle went on and it made short work of the hardened fir windfall in my backyard.

The large handle allows for a two handed grip but it's still nimble enough for one handed use. It's the kind of knife that bites deep.

The sheath was tooled to a kind of wood grain pattern and has a belt loop/pack attachment on the back as well as the strap.

Thanks for looking.

Oh man, I would LOVE to sling that over my shoulder... Gorgeous and purposeful.
Is the wood oak or hickory? (or other?)

Stuart, you're my hero.

That is downright sexy!!!! I love the mix of primitive looks with a precise build. The texture on the sheath is paired nicely with the blade.

sure glad I checked in today!
