I have had this blade waiting for a handle for about 4 months now.
After seeing the first one David made in this thread I had to have one.

I modified the handle shape slightly to better fit my hand.

The blade is 1/8" thick 1095 with his superbly sharp convex edge. OAL is a little over 13" with 7 1/2" of blade. The scales are bloodwood with brass pins.

In hand shot.

The balance point is right where the handle meets the blade. :tu:

Batoned through some wood after chopping some random small limbs around the yard.

They cleaned it off and cut up my buffalo steak for lunch. It's a damn good blade for kitchen work.

All told I'd say this is my new favorite big camp knife. I don't think a blade this size needs to be super thick at all. I plan on beating the hell out of it. David is likely to track me down if he knew I wasn't using it.

I still have a smaller 7" OAL, 3 1/4" blade companion knife to finish. I might make up a piggyback rig for both of them.

oohh.. that is a beast of a knife... i like it.. those farners are crazy sharp..

I was going to ask you about how you felt about 1/8" thickness, but you answered it in your post. I bet that knife kicks but in the kitchen!

Oh my... I should not have clicked on this post. I have been keeping my eye on these Farmer blades. This could be expensive.

Gorgeous! I like the blade shape a lot. I keep hearing good things about Farmer's knives...gonna have to look into them.

Hi! Thats a sweet looking blade! I'm wondering what tools you used for rounding out the corners? Also what was the wait time for that knife?

My tools are incredibly high tech.

Half round double cut bastard file, flat single cut bastard file, plumbers sanding mesh and sanding sponges.

You'd have to ask David Farmer what the wait would be.

cool blade Bruce, sort of a streched out, smoothed up pira ;)
bigger than any of the Farmer knives I have. I love the 4" camp He made me!
I see the old dragon is on there.
whatcha gonna do for a sheath?
thanks for shareing!
be safe... Ted

I ordered a Camp as well as his Cobra knife about a month ago, he should be finishing mine up this week. Looking forward to them.

David's knives are really really sharp, I stropped one of his blg blades to the point where it would cut a hair held only by one end.

Made some pants for it.

I really wanted to take this guy camping this weekend so it needed a sheath.

I made a quickdraw for it. It rides pretty good on the hip, barely know it's there.

Looking forward to more testing this weekend.
