I pretty much suck at pics so here's a borrowed pic of my Walden cattle knife.

By "Cattle King" do you mean knives on a Cattle frame or just knives on a Stockman frame ?
I'm not trying to be picky but if it's both big Stock & Cattle knives that's a HUGE subject.
I'll be back to knife heaven (my home) in a couple of days and i've got lots of fine examples of both that i could show. (and plan to)

Mark are those Ulster and Walden Cattle knives original or more modern repros ? Very fine knives whichever, and stunning if original.

"Ulster and Walden are made by GEC"
Do you know if any are still available ? These are knives i need !

Here's one I wish I would've kept, a RAT stockman, with a punch instead of spey blade

That RAT is one of a very few slipjoints that I am actively trying to find. I've loved it since I first saw it- unfortunately I've never had the chance to make it mine.

A couple that I have that seem to fit.

A 3 3/4" Colonial (2 pen blades, but for $5, with half stops and long pull it was a solid worker I couldn't resist)

RAT Railsplitter- a solid workhorse, but the punch on the other model makes it much more versatile to me:

"National Stock Knife/ 3249 Blue Steel" I know nothing about this knife, those are the only markings. But at 4" long, long pulls, punch, and pinched bolsters it called to me as well. The main back spring has been mushroomed back due to opening
so I will get it replaced at some point so that the master blade has no play when open. I only use it occasionally due to the master blade issue- but punch and Spey are both strong. This knife had the strongest crimping of any secondary blade I've seen- the Spey moves all the way over to touch the clip blade, and the clip blade has 2 different lengths of swedges, the longest and strongest is on the shield side, not the Spey blade side as I would have suspected.

And the pinnacle of my larger multi-blade slipjoints- Northfeild Cattle Baron in Black Lip LookingGlass. Looks beautiful, fills my hand very well, and all blades are ground for their intended use- the coping is very thin, while the clip and Spey ate a bit thicker. I had to grind down the Spey a bit and add my own swedge as it obscured the middle of the long pull on the master clip, but that just made it more mine. It has been camping with me more than once and is a more than capable worker- as well as looking just as good in the firelight!

All together (the 'Blue Steel' is actually as large as the Northfield, but looks smaller than the other 2 due to my poor photography skills):

This is an area of my collection that I would like to add to in the future, but it depends on what I come across!

Two ACSB Cattle Kings arrived last week. F+F is as good as any knife I own. Both had even grinds, and all six blades cut paper out of the box. Only minor issue was some corrosion where the main blades are etched. A few minutes polishing with simichrome cleaned them up nice. I've been carrying it for a week, and can't get over how much knife you get for $60. Please excuse my crummy - as usual - pics.

Cattle frame, stockman frame, any and all variations. They just gotta be big, about 4" or bigger.

Keep these beauties coming! I too am interested if these GEC Walden and Ulster repros are still available. I know where "my" RAT stockman is, but I saw it at his store back in April. I am going to buy a Vic golf tool for a friend of the family, maybe I can get the RAT stockman back at the same time. Most of his clientele are into tactical knives, maybe they won't want it, yeah, that's the ticket.

I just have to say this about this post "these are a few of my favorite things"! I might of heard that in a song; cool post!

Has GEC ever made a "Cattle Baron" with ebony handles. Is there an on-line resource to research this question myself?

I got my cattle king, and I am stunned. Edges are pretty good, not razor sharp like a GEC, but pretty good. F and F are good too. Bone is beautiful. I got the RAT punch stockman coming back to me, with a gift I got for a family friend. A large Northwoods stockman on it's way too.

I'm suprised no one has shown off one of these in this thread, Queens Dan Burke Cattle Knife. It's a whopper and heavy too.

Hey, that's a pretty cool knife, Phil. I like the steerhead carved in the bone... Reminds me of old fancy Colt revolver grips. What's the steel on that tank?
