Here's one I wish I would've kept, a RAT stockman, with a punch instead of spey blade
That RAT is one of a very few slipjoints that I am actively trying to find. I've loved it since I first saw it- unfortunately I've never had the chance to make it mine.
A couple that I have that seem to fit.
A 3 3/4" Colonial (2 pen blades, but for $5, with half stops and long pull it was a solid worker I couldn't resist)
RAT Railsplitter- a solid workhorse, but the punch on the other model makes it much more versatile to me:
"National Stock Knife/ 3249 Blue Steel" I know nothing about this knife, those are the only markings. But at 4" long, long pulls, punch, and pinched bolsters it called to me as well. The main back spring has been mushroomed back due to opening
so I will get it replaced at some point so that the master blade has no play when open. I only use it occasionally due to the master blade issue- but punch and Spey are both strong. This knife had the strongest crimping of any secondary blade I've seen- the Spey moves all the way over to touch the clip blade, and the clip blade has 2 different lengths of swedges, the longest and strongest is on the shield side, not the Spey blade side as I would have suspected.
And the pinnacle of my larger multi-blade slipjoints- Northfeild Cattle Baron in Black Lip LookingGlass. Looks beautiful, fills my hand very well, and all blades are ground for their intended use- the coping is very thin, while the clip and Spey ate a bit thicker. I had to grind down the Spey a bit and add my own swedge as it obscured the middle of the long pull on the master clip, but that just made it more mine. It has been camping with me more than once and is a more than capable worker- as well as looking just as good in the firelight!
All together (the 'Blue Steel' is actually as large as the Northfield, but looks smaller than the other 2 due to my poor photography skills):
This is an area of my collection that I would like to add to in the future, but it depends on what I come across!
