Last Week's Adventure...

Yeah Andy, good stuff mate!

Mmmm... Fresh pork! (Or is that one of the ones you said you don't eat?)
...... thanks mate and no, I/we don't eat those rancid things. I don't dislike pork (mmmmm.....bacon) but not the stinking wild variety here.

A week out in wild country with your Mate is Living Life Mate....Good on Ya...:thumbup: Thanx for sharing the photos the area resembles my dads ranch here in New Mexico.
....thanks mate, I thought the same thing when I was travelling in NM ! Out here the further west you get the dryer it gets as well. This is about 1/2 way across the state.

Great pics and story Andy, thanks for that!
... thanks mate.. :D

Awesome write up Andy. I enjoy living vicariously.

Btw.... I can see why people think wild hogs are possessed by demons...... :Eek!:
.... thanks, I do dislike Wild Hogs but so love to hunt them ... ;) I am sure that when "Boar" comes out at the movies MORE people will be afraid of the bush.... ;)

Looks relaxing to me. Awesome
.... it was....even the long dry walking when compared to being home and part of the "normal world" !!!

Thanks for sharing Andy; the landscape in your pictures really is beautiful.
....my pleasure.

Great Stuff. Top notch pictures, what camera are you using ?
..... thanks :) the pics taken on the walk are with a Nikon1 V1 (that I bought this year for the NZ Trip next year) and the rest with a Nikon D7200.

Your trips always remind me I need to get out more... and work less!
...I hear you mate, this will be my last trip bush now till I go to NZ in Feb next year :( This working for a living thing really does cramp one's time in the bush !!

Always enjoy your photos and narration Andy.
My recent retirement will give me more time afield......while I still can.
Thanks for the motivation :thumbup::)

Nice to see it so green, beautiful country. If you ever get tired of sleeping on the ground I highly recommend a good hammock setup. Much more comfortable and gets you off the ground away from all the creepy crawlies.

Funny, we were discussing hammocks on that very walk. I would have to try one out and see if it was compatible with my back ;). Yes being up off the ground is a bonus I can appreciate.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing your adventure with us! I would recommend a hammock as well. I was a non believer in them until the last 6 months or so, but I picked up a Hennessy hammock with an asymmetric lie and I am now converted.

Another good one Andy:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

....I can't imagine sleeping outside of a tent.... I'd be terrified to wake up with a spider on my face..... Or worse..... I know that people didn't always sleep in tents, back in the day, but still.....

It's just what you are use to I guess mate. I like tents ;) but they are just not practical walking great distances here either. Any extra weight carried really does need to be water. You do get a bit of a funny feeling when you hear/feel something crawling/scurrying across your bivvy in the night though...I have learned (after many years of practice) how NOT to squeal like a teenage girl at those moments... ;)

Hopefully, the mate I am going with turns 5-0 next year and this was what he decided he wanted to do to make the occasion. I note that I am significantly more youthful than him and can always steady his walking frame when it comes time to take a shot.... ;)
