Yeah, I've only been into Beckers for a couple years now, and I only give myself a C- in Becker history.
Is there (in your opinion) any advantage to using/carrying a roll-stamped model over the laser etched ones besides collectability/coolness factor?

Strictly coolness factor hehe. And they're smooth coated. They changed the entire line to laser etched and textured coating at some point. The roll stamped are no longer available making them more difficult to aquire. Combine that with a discontinued model and its even more collectible. I have a 15 user so these will stay pretty for the time being.
Now I have my eye out for a stamped 11 and 17 users.

Nothing more beautiful and cool than a stamped bk2 plus the fact that's smooth coated

the cam campanion,am pretty sure it's gonna stay that way,thinking in a couple mods for my bk2
 
I got my 5 and 15 today (sorry, no pics yet, it's late here)
And I think o could use the coating on the 15 to clean a rusty grill (knocked that off right away) while the 5 was/is smoother than a... Well it's smooth.
I love it, just not sure what to make of it...

Congrats on your steel my friend, I've been trying to add old stock lately to may coleccion too(successfully)
 
Thanks You also a 9 with a 14 nice combo, and yes look for the old and use the new. who am I kidding I use the new also the old unless NIB then I wait to get the user, time it just takes time KEEP EM SHARP MY FRIEND
