Hey fellas-

I posted this in the custom forum, but since I know a bunch of folks don't go over there, I thought I'd post up the latest knife from the shop.

-Forged W2 integral, clay hardened and fully polished.
-Line cut and fluted integral bolster
-Stabilized Afzelia Burl handle and domed 416 pin.
I'm sending it to Paul Long for some Masterfully done leatherwork.

Thanks for looking :)

I've always loved fighters with integrals, and this sir is the top of the bunch.

A great piece by an extremely talented maker.

That's just beautiful Nick!! :D I'm just blown away at how clean and perfect your knives are. Not many people's knives would stand the scrutiny that your hi res pics allow. :)

The way the front of the hamon looks like it's a flame shooting out the tip of the blade is fantastic! I ALWAYS appreciate it when you share your work.

Thanks!

Dang, Nick. That knife is amazing. You didn't happen to take any WIP shots of it did you? Nice hamon also, getting decent pictures of them are a real pain.

Thanks guys!!! :)

Brian, I keep chasing that whole "clean" thing... what a PITA it can be sometimes. LOL

Matt- actually I took a whole bunch of pictures while I was making this one that I sent to the customer. A friend spurred me into putting them together for a WIP for British Blades... maybe I will stick them up here.

Thanks again guys :)

Wow, Nick. That's an amazing knife. The hamon is nothing short of incredible. Bravo!

Amazing just a pleasure to look at

Suck attention to detail. Great job Nick. That hamon turned out amazing.

Woo hoo! That is a nice one Nick! Love the dark etch in the line cuts on the bolster, so clean. In fact the entire bolster area looks awesome, could be my favorite part of this blade!

Dang, thank you guys! :) My hat is feeling kind'a snug this morning for some reason. :foot: ;)

I know at least a few of you guys know first hand that hamon--- both creating and then polishing them, can be INCREDIBLY frustrating. It's taken me 10+ years to get to this point, and I still feel like I don't know what the hell I'm doing.

I'm glad to hear guys like the line cuts with the flute between... It's something I have been doing and trying to "perfect" now for over 10 years. I first saw it done on knives by one of my bladsmithing heroes Jim Schmidt. One of his students/friend/folder maker extraordinaire, Barry Davis, does it on just about every knife as well--- Seeing the photos of their work in the knife mags and knife annuals back when I was 14 convinced me it was something I wanted to be able to put on knives (one of the very few things I haven't changed my mind about in 20 years, LMAO).

One of Jim's gorgeous folders with line cut and fluted bolster, provided by David Darom :)
