Law Enforcement Knife Contest

OK folks.
I've been involved in the Law Enforcement field for the last 16 years, most of those as a Sergeant for my local Sheriffs Office.
I've seen the contests for designs John has kindly allowed on his forum here and it started me thinking we should have a law enforcement knife design contest. I've seen some damn creative designs here and I'd really like to see what you guys and gals could come up with for a hideout law enforcement knife. I'm talking something you could wear on the neck, tuck inside the vest, or clip to the duty belt on the inside hidden.
Keep in mind you want something smaller as a last ditch/concealed type knife design. Think about a duty belt with weapon, mags, OC Spray, taser, cuffs, radio, ASP Baton, keys, coffee mug (seeing if you're paying attention), keepers, etc. Something compact.
We can take designs submitted, vote as a group, and submit to John for construction. I have a plethora of contacts at State and Federal level to pass this design on to so your creation could be used by Officers on a large scale nationwide to keep them safe and maybe save a life at some point in one way or another. Possibly as a bonus John could name the model after you as one of his JK Knives.
Thoughts?
John?
:)

I`m all for it, a lot of my best designs have come from the guys here. OK guys, get creative!

Cool. This is gonna be good.
There's some creative minds on here.
Thanks John.

Is the intended purpose general use or last ditch do or die situation? Or a bit of both?

I can think of something. A little more stuff about what this would be used for could be good. Would this be used daily? Or just last ditch?

Well, knowing what I know there, I came up with a light-weight utility. I debated serrations, but decided against them in the end, since a nice sharp edge will cut synthetics and fibrous material just as well, if not better. The blade is shaped in such a way that you can stab with it, cut with it, slash with it, and even pry with it (the angle of the tip and the handle are more or less in line with each other). Because of it's shape, it can even be wielded like a kerambit, but its curve isn't so dramatic as to make it difficult to use for other tasks. I skeletonized the handle in this design, but if that isn't something that can be done, I can pretty easily change the design to just have holes instead--I just wanted to make it as light as possible without losing too much strength. There is a small glass-breaker on the butt that isn't so big as to be a deadly weapon (unless you really try, I suppose), but should be plenty to shatter glass.

With that, I present to you; the Legel LEUK (Law Enforcement Utility Knife) Skeletonized

Looks great but if I'm honest it's more Dan Koster water cut that Stomper hand cut ! But I may be wrong !!!:o

I suppose you have a point there, pitdog--for some reason I keep forgetting that not everybody on here has access to a waterjet :P. In any case, I removed the skeletonization for simplicity's sake, but I think that the overall shape is doable?

A little blurry, but you get the idea. 6 1/4" overall, 1/8" thick, with thin (1/8" or 1/4") micarta slabs. It could be skeletonized under the handles for lighter weight.

I could have my blades waterjet cut, but I`m a firm believer in doing all of the process steps myself. I`m kind of a control freak!

How about my ewok? It would do the trick, I think. I don't have pics (stupid computer viruses! ) but maybe John has one or two.

Intended use I was thinking last ditch but to be honest most guys use those in general. Usually guys that I work with are into knives and may tuck one in the vest or otherwise like I mentioned above, but would use it in general also just because it's a tool. ;)

Just an idea but it would be interesting if we could figure out a way to tuck or "snap in" a cuff key as a back/emergency spare.
Maybe in the handle somehow.
