Law Enforcement Knife Contest

I'd still like to see somthing similar to this.....

Any other suggestions? Not sure how we could vote or if John just wants to decide since he has to make it.
Just got back from a training school and they're sending me away to another one.
:grumpy:

I hate to say it but CBryant's newest design with a sheepsfoot blade would be just about perfect if you ask me.

I don't see how this wouldn't do the trick (maybe a little tweaking to the exposed tang)- of course a more manly color on the scales ;) )

Mike

Manly?! LOL! This by far my favorite knife and the one that gets carried constantly....along with my LDK from John.

there you go :) did you (or John) simply remove some of the scale on the EWOK?

still looks like a great LE knife to me

If this one ever comes to life, I`ve got a wild idea for a multi position belt sheath.

For a law enforcement knife , a small round knob on that exposed tang may make a good window punch.

^ exactly my thoughts

I think this knife, with a slightly reworked tang on the end

something along the lines of this:

the EWOK is already a proven design, a small-ish tweak and I think it would be a very admirable LE knife (probably already is :))

Hi Guys -

Ok - I am no artiste here - but I drew this up - I would like a nice stout clip-point with the belt cutter incorporated in the butt end, and I liked the idea of the cutout for a handcuff key - so pardon the childish artwork - you get the idea....

The bottom tang of the belt cutter slot would have the window-nick, and I see this with a nice wood handle like John does so well.

best regards -

We have found that the 12ga less lethal beanbag round does a good job. ;)
Most guys use their ASP baton to break windows. On a small knife i'm not sure if it's really going to feature that is used much. My opinion only of course.
I have so much gear on my belt that i do not have a place to carry a fixed blade. Double mag pouch, 2 pair of cuffs, handgun, ASP,flashlight, Taser, extra taser cartridge and radio.(along with a b/u wpn concealed). I carry a ZT 302 folder.
I tried to carry my Rat Izula but it's an annoying task to resheath vs fold and clip back into pocket.
I'll probably carry my soon to arrive EDC with my counter sniper gear.
In my dept 600+ I know of only 3 that carry a fixed blade in class A's : 2 kabar tdi's and a boker cop tool. Unfortunately more cops will spend money on a fancy pen set than a knife.
My last bit of ramblings . . . when a group of new recruits arrive at our academy, I'll give them each a piece of 550 cord and tell them I want it back in 2 pieces. The next day they will all have a folder clipped in their pocket!!

^ small fixed blade necker, tuck it in the front pocket of your vest and you won't even know it's there :)

I know what you mean about belt space, my daughter also carries a folder, in her case an old Benchmade Pinnacle.

The tang is extended. Handle is perfect for my large hands. I hate small handles! Next to my LDK, it is my favorite and most carried. Damn thing is stropped and shaves, even though I like a toothy edge.

^ ahh thanks- my personal opinion is we already have the perfect LE knife- yours :)

EWOK w/ extended tang- not sure if there is an advantage in making the extension slightly pointy for glass or not?????????
