Lazy Sunday Afternoon. Doc Knife pics.

Thank you for posting these pics, they are beautiful knives.
I especially want to say thanks for the continuing education you gents supply. I love to learn and from you guys I have a constant flow of information with which to do so.

Gus, what an amazing collection!
The filework on the Ruple is beautiful! The black lip on that Shadley has some great color. You know I'm a sucker for black lip! The Kious is the first of his I've seen in that pattern. And the mokume ones are outstanding!!

It would be hard to pick a favorite! Which is why you have so many, right? LOL

Superb photos, Gus. They are all outstanding, but the pearl on the Kious is among the best I've seen.
The Reese Bose is altogether mind-blowing. Thanks for the show!

These has been a great thread, wonderful knives. I am wondering how long doctor's knives are? I know Alsdorf makes his in a 3 1/8" (closed) length do others makers make their's any longer?

The ones in the photos range from 4.25" (Bill Ruple's, Tony Huffman's, Art Washburn's) to a bit of 3" (Kious). The antiques in my collection also show some of the same variations in size. One day I will shoot some of those and put them up.

Bill, I know I've seen pics of several of yours that would look great on this thread.

That is a fabulous collection Gus. It is a wonderful representation of the art of the custom knife. The same pattern represented in such different ways.....spectacular!
I am delighted to hear that you are well on the mend and I look forward to seeing you next year at Blade.
I wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas and a wonderful, healthy 2011:)

Kind regards
Steven
