Learned my lesson - empty my pockets :(

They were embarrassingly bad. Rusted up into the spalting. Scratches lengthwise across the blades. I was too upset to take pics.

They look new. And they are literally scary sharp.

And neither are left in the kitchen anymore. Unless I'm supervising. Next time I go on vacation and leave someone in the house, my knives are either locked up, or coming with me!
 
You should post a side by side, before & after pic in your first post. I kinda liked the washing machine patina. Next time she should put some rocks in your pocket to give it that stonewash finish.
