Learning to send things back if not right...

I take photos and send them to the dealer and the manufacturer
And according to the reponse from both, I return it to whom ever they agree.

I had a dealer that would not even deal with a defective knife as part of thier resonsiblity
That is the last time I purchased from them

I bought a Stag handled Peanut with bail off Ebay & the pin heads for the Bail had sharp edges & the spring was sticking way up when the blade was closed & open.It was a very proud spring.;)
I sent it to Case after explaining the problems & it came back to me with the spring still a little proud, still sharp pin heads & big gaps between the liners & spring. It looks like they pinched the bolster on the pivot end & now the liners are bowed and the Pivot pin is a bit proud now also.
I've been so disgusted with them I haven't bothered to send it back despite their offering to refund the shipping/insurance costs for the second go around.
I'll stick with GEC & take my chances with old Schrades.
Also with dealers that show multiple views of the knife on their site, that sure makes the buy or not buy decision easier being able to see both sides of a knife & the back spring.

i have a few more chances left in me for buying a case and that's it. after that i move on. i'm already getting a sense that they're not what they used to be, but i could be wrong. i hope they prove me wrong.

Finding a reliable on-line dealer and establishing good relations with them is important. Does take time though. A good dealer will check the knife beforehand and have quality pictures of it.

I'm a European, so sending stuff back to the US is doubly complex (and expensive) but there are NO knife shops in my area. Usually, I've been lucky, touch wood, but oddly enough it's the more expensive Traditional knives I've had issues with......Good luck with that CS I've heard of other people having some QC issues with that knife.
