Not because I don't like the knife. I like the design. I don't like it because it didn't like me first! EVERY time I pull it out to EDC it tries to bite me. I've gotten a couple of good nicks and one cut to the bone from that knife. Anymore I just pass it by when it comes it's turn to EDC.
From a design standpoint I second the Leafstorm. I've got one, but I think it has TERRIBLE ergos.
my pro grip that doesnt have jimping, and it was too thick, which i flat ground so its good now in that regard. it was mostly serrated, not quite fully or combo, so i fully serrated it. i dont know how the plastic clip will do either.
as far as ones i dont own, the chokwe is too ugly inmy opinion
My least favorite Spydies are those which - to my eyeball - appear to put form over function. That is, they seem to be wacky just for the sake of being wacky, and not for any functional reason.
The top contender for me in this category might be the Spyderco Kris.
Sad to hear so many people dislike the Leaf Storm it is one of my favorites. I know I may catch hell for this but of the Spydercos I have my Para 2 was my biggest let down, and here is why. It was my first $100+ knife. When I got it, it had a problem with the detent to the point where I had to use two hands to open it. Sent it back and the second one had a very disappointing edge. Being new to knives I had a hell of a time getting the S30V sharp. After all the hype and 2 bad experiences with it I had a hard time carrying it.
I'll probably get flamed for this, but the Delica 4. I hate the back lock and I prefer a tad more belly in my blade shapes. Its an okay knife, but there are a dozen or more better models for me.
Put the Nomex on before posting, but I've never really liked my Carbon Fiber Stretch ZDP-189, I guess mainly because of the back lock too. And it's ugly.
Are we talking about the least of our favorites? If so, I too would point to my Leafstorm. Really looks handsome and meets the checklist for all the premium materials. Cool name from an awesome designer and a great rendition by one of the best knife brands..
..but it just doesn't handle as well as it looks. It doesn't feel like a Spyderco in ergonomics (and for this size class, the Dragonfly immediately comes to mind).
Of the ones I've had, the SS Cricket, the blade was obnoxious to sharpen, and it was just too small/thin for my larger hands (though I do like the ladybug), that said I'd take it over just about any other knife from lower end brands.
all of there switchblade because they won't fix them by law so they are as is the way I understand it or maybe I have it all wrong. I am just going by some of the other post by other members here on these forms that I have read.
I'll have to agree on the Leaf Storm. I love the looks and materials. But every time I went to buy one and actually got to handle it for a few mins it just didn't feel good in the hand and just about nicked myself every time I went to close it because of the blade edge design. And I really wanted to like it.
Least favourite spyderco well its hard to tell i really liked them all but if I had to choose one would be a spyderco military. Also don't know why so many dislikes for leaf storm have few use them all the time and they work for me.Just my 2 cents.Cheers.
