least-tacticool hard-use folders?

I think a small micarta sebbie with matte screws might be your huckleberry.

Large one is sweet also

If you like the Sebe, but don't want to spend the money, get a Benchmade Mini Skirmish. Some of my other mid price favorites are the ZT 0200, Kershaw's Tirade, Spec Bump, Junk Yard Dog in D2, and Blur in S30V. But since your here, you must want the best, so buy the Sebe with duel thumb studs.

USN member? Didn't know the Navy sold knives. I am not a member of the Navy, so I guess I can't get one :( .

Buck Model 172. Very civilian looking - remarkably comfortable to use. Personally prefer it over the small Sebenza. Not too expensive - so using it is actually reasonable. As always - hand fit means YMMV - but this was a immediate hit for me.

Yeah, I still need a few more, maybe a few customs and a Spartan. :D I got 3 on order for sure and another 3 on backorder.

Its a 9050, and the middle one is the new 9051 not yet released from Benchmade, but I will be sure to get a couple of them in stone wash and a plain edge. (same as the bottom)

Sweet blades , I need to try a severtech ..

HEY ... What model is that Benchmade on the bottom??? I like it

This is my only folder at the moment. LOL ,, replica LUM folder next to an original Fixed LUM .. .I really like .. Prob. the best folder I owned so far , but I still have a long way to go... I should have a Benchmade Model 42 coming to me any day now ... Mannnn. I am going to accidentally cut my self bad on that one.. Bali s are new territory for me

I have considered selling it many times but I just can't part with it.

Benchmade makes (made?) a balisong trainer model... No sharp edges. I suggest that you pick one up and practice with it until you get into the 'swing' of things a bit... Your fingers will thank you! ;)

So far I've had/have small/large Sebenza's, CRK Umnumzaan, CRK Mnandi, Strider PT/SNG, Spyderco Delica/Endura, Benchmade 710/910/707/705/Ruckus/Skirmish/a few autos/42mc/Griptillian large and small/970/975/875/806, I've also had/have a couple customs. I'd have to say that my altime favorite would have to be the Large Regular Sebenza. The Small is a tad too small for my hands...feels a tad insecure because I'm not holding on to much. The Large isn't that big of a knife and just fits right. The Strider SNG is a bad ass knife as well. I really like it, but it's a tad intimidating to some folks and doesn't carry/draw as comfortably even though it's a lighter knife than the seb.

The new drop point H&K Benchmade looks like a winner though. I'd like to try one of those out. I really like the Benchmade Axis lock.

I'd probably say for an all around knife, you can't beat a large or small sebenza. Though if you can afford both, the Large and the Mnandi is a good combination. When you need a sheeple friendly knife the Mnandi is as good as it gets....for a work knife, the Sebenza is as good as it gets.

Just have to add; I agree on the Warren Thomas folder(s). Try to hold one and then hold on to your wallet.

Spyderco para military. Handle is rather large but this gives it the feel of a much larger knife. And you can pick them up for under $120

I prefer Ray Rogers custom folders.
He can build one to your specs and the size you need.
Best custom folder, for the money, I have found !
Bad thing is the 15 month wait. :(
Here's my big titanium folder Ray built for me.
Got another coming soon with Mammoth scales.

I have been trying to get a Ritter BM Griptilian for a while. They just look sweet. I currently EDC an older griptilian or at work I use a small etched Spyderco Dragonfly.

These are not a very high dollar knives but I prefer to spend money on fixed blades and skimp on the folders.

I've got one in my pocket right now, between that, my D2 Para Military and my etched dragonfly, it's all I want/need for folders. All great designs and solid workers.
"Hard use" and "folders" don't really go hand in hand for me unless it's Severtech. One persons hard use is not anothers, etc. etc.

After seeing Uncle J's Lum folder, I realized I forgot to mention the Bob Lum designed Benchmade Dejavoo and Mini Dejavoo. They are the smoothest opening factory knives you will find.
