Leatherman Core Review - don't walk away, RUN!!

I looked, and thanks, but I'm not interested in anything. Moreover, I'm not a bad enough person to give you a travesty of a product, despite your propensity to misinterpret my opinions. :D

What the hell are you talking about, no they don't. Please stop wasting forum space with your worthless messages. :thumbdn: BOOOO!! HISS!!! :thumbdn:

LOL. Worthless messages?
Makes this whole thread a matter of the pot calling the kettle black, doesn't it? :jerkit:

Stupid%20thread.gif
Forgot about this. Makes a whole lot of sense to me.

ElCuchillo, if this thread is so worthless to you, why were your last 5 posts in this thread? You spend more time here than you let off.
You tell me to stop posting in this "stupid thread" but you posted three times in 10 minutes. What an idiot.

Gentlebeings, we provide this forum for you to talk about multi-tools, not about each other. Please try to keep that in mind. This thread started off discussing a multi-tool....

I Have Had My Core For About 4 Months It Is A Great Tool And At Times Is Better Than My Charges And Surges And Cores

Have you been using it for very long?
How has it failed to perform?

Cheap? Yes.
But is it effective?

Maybe, and maybe not.
I've seen Glocks take alot of abuse and still perform 100%.
Sometimes plastic is better than steel.

As I said before, sometimes plastic is better than steel.

But does it work?
The safety/firing-selector on my AKS-47 is cheap too, but it works just fine.

But how do the tools actually perform?

You're serious that a SLIGHT squeeze of the handles will actually BEND the tips of the pliers?

But how does the phillips screwdriver perform?
Do the circles and lines affect its performance as a screwdriver?

And do these ridges negatively affect the plier's performance?

Are you suggesting that those who buy Leatherman tools (folks like yourself since you stated that you just recently bought this tool) are idiots?

And who cares if Leatherman uses the same parts, in different combinations, for different tools?
Victorinox has been using the same common tools, just in different configurations, on their Swiss Army Knives for over 100 years.

The same thing has been said of Spyderco knives but I've yet to see any real world evidence to support this notion.

I've used the Wave for years and I've never cut myself due to the opening-holes.
And I don't know of anyone who has.
Again, there does not seem to be any real world evidence to back up this notion.

I've never had any problem with the pivots on my Wave.
Maybe it's just you?

Why did you buy the Leatherman in the first place?
Did you actually see and handle one before you purchased?

Are you nuts? As a private purchase sidearm most of the guys I know use Springfield M1911's (all Steel), I use a GP-35 (Browning Hi-Power), also all steel. A few SEALS I knew in the USN,(I'm now in the NG) use single action Rugers (all Steel). Do you see a pattern here?
The glops are ok for militia type folks who dress up & pretend.
I have yet to see a member purposefully buy a glop for military use.
As a side note why would anyone need pliers built into a knife. It defies logic.

It's more like a knife built into pliers. A multitool. Very useful for us working stiffs that still repair, and build stuff with our own hands.

Don't knock the Glock. Other weapons are often preferred by military professionals, but that has nothing to do with plastics. Glock pistols passed US military trials 20 years ago that resulted in the adaptation of the M9 Beretta, an excellent pistol which got the contract because of price, not quality.

Other militaries issue Glocks, including Austria and Norway. Glock also dominates the police market these days. About 65% of US departments supply their officers with Glocks in a variety of calibers. That looks like a vote of confidence to me.

Personally, I prefer the various 1911s (Kimber is awesome), mostly because that was what I trained with and am most familiar. Glock, however, is every bit military grade and another good choice among many.

I know this is a super old thread but I just had to chime in b/c I just bought a Core (for cheap) and was entertained when reading the thread. This idea that the Core isn't worth the money, due to it's plastic pieces, makes me wonder how much biggie paid :/ Further, not all plastic is made equal. Some is stronger than others and Leatherman's have 25 year warranties. What's the worry? In fact, I contacted a rep with Leatherman and she stated that I could send in my Core for a full warranty tune-up - and that if the Core had any issues and could not be repaired they would back it 100% by replacing it with a current comparable model. Sick!

Thus, I see no good reason to think the Core is not a good tool. The thing works great. Biggie, perhaps you just over paid?

Oh and one more thing, the pliers are fine and crimp together quite evenly.

"Your refusal to respond to my physics analysis of the Wave blade while ridiculing my opinion makes you a troll. "
Stating a theoretical possibility without any mathematical modelling or real world data does not constitute physics. My Spydercos have thumb holes, and seem fine. Does that mean they could never break at the hole? No, but I'd want to see some evidence before I thought it was an actual problem, as opposed to an imaginary problem.

"This only proves your ignorance and not mine. You aren’t the authority behind all knowledge, so it is completely understandable for some things to slip by you."
You aren't the authority on all things either, so if you were going to produce evidence, this would have been a good time to do it, so we could believe on the basis of the evidence, not because you said so. Hate to say it, but this is starting to look like trolling.
