Leatherman is not going to include the sheath or the accessories once supplied

Buy an American Benchcraft sheath and quit whining.

My Ruger didn’t come with a holster.

My Gibson didn’t come with a strap.

American stuff cost more.
I understand if Leatherman has to increase their prices but Leathermans have always come with sheaths. Try pocket carrying a Supertool 300, not super comfy. To me Leatherman should increase the price of the tool a few dollars but still include the sheaths.

Many years ago I got a very good deal on a Victorinox Swiss Tool in the PX on Fort Lewis, WA, so maybe 2010 or earlier? I seem to remember only paying about $60-70 for it, and carried it in my day pack all over the country to military trade shows, and the SHOT Show. Got a lot of good use out of it, and of course it came in a Cordura scabbard. I did do some consulting work with Gerber, specifically with Doug Hutchins when they came out with their EOD Multi Tool. Apparently they did not realize how critical was the dimensions of the Cap Crimper, so you would crimp the blasting cap, not crush or cut it open. Still I was no longer in the business of crimping blasting caps, so no need to get an EOD multi-tool, and do not see any reason to get another multi tool, as the Swiss tool still works for me. It is sitting on top of a 2 drawer filing cabinet to my right, right now. Use it several times a week to do something. John

I use ALL my accessories. Especially my add-on sheath and add-on tools. If Leatherman stops including sheaths, I'll get my multi-tools somewhere else. Multi-tools are now growing on trees, anyhow. There are some great tools out there that do include sheaths and will in the future, too.

🔦 It's like Surefire flashlights. Surefire was once a great company. Now one can get better flashlights out there at a fraction of the price. I hope Leatherman stays competitive and won't rest on their laurels. “We may give you a bum deal, but at least it's Leatherman!”

Those kind of things don't go over too well.

For 15 years people whined to Leatherman to add pocket clips, so they did add them to many models. One has to assume that most are using the pocket clips and not the belt pouch. I almost never see anyone with a belt pouch these days.

One way or another, you will pay for those "extras", via a mandatory increase in price, or via an optional separate purchase.

Buy your cheapo multitools that come with all the extras for pennies on the dollar. I'm sure the workers in the factories working their 6 x12 work weeks and sleeping in dorms appreciate it. The Party approves as well.

Obviously LM can do no wrong.... :)

So did Queen Cutlery, when their fans insisted that buyers should sharpen their own blades.

Tim no longer runs the show and it is obvious.

LM is just a company trying to make as much money as possible these days, like most.

No one has said that.

LM is fighting for survival, like all US companies. A large country in the East is dumping product here with prices that are impossible to compete with. People can't connect their addiction to cheap goods with what's happening with almost all industries in the Western world. The Party approves.

It wont be long before people start tightening their belts again, if they get priced out of U.S. goods and their ego won't let them buy international products (from any country) then prices will further be affected

And pricing out heir customers, has been going on for a few years, and offering less for a higher cost is not going to help them.
Switzerland is not the cheapest country in the world but have not drastically increased their prices in the past decade.

The idea that people will pay anything to keep a, wealthy, private, company in business in the US is not realistic. I suspect that as tariffs are making imported tools more expensive US companies will see the opportunity to make their products even more expensive too, finding some justification of some sort.

I have about a hundred LM tools and more Victorinox, so I am not desperate to buy, so maybe I a not their target customer.

I wish them, genuinely, well and god bless them .

This has taken immediate effect the last several leatherman tools I ordered were sans sheaths, at least that tells me they aren't new-old stock.
The last I received with a sheath probably was new-old stock, ST300, plenty of play and wobble in the blade and the whole thing was dusty.
Sheaths are cheap enough, I dont see this as a <big> problem
Just an inconvenience As you now have to buy a sheath alongside the tool moving forward

Well I have three LM sheaths and a couple of other moli sheaths that I can use for whichever tool I’m using not to mention three sizes of maxpedition organizers with even more accessories. I also have three bit kits to choose from so I have plenty of spare sheaths and kits. My Arc, Wave, signal and wingman have pocket clips and i use them but when im camping or out doing stuff I need the extra tools in the set i use the sheath to carry everything including a microstream flashlight and the bit extension and they come in handy.

It is disappointing that they don’t include the sheath and extra bit kits now but that won’t stop me from buying a LM tool if I need to. I have yet to find any multi tool that compares with LM tools and im happy with what I have. I do wish they still made the juice series , I have one S2 no pocket clip I use occasionally when I’m dressed for more casual occasions and not having a clip or sheath doesn’t bother me at all.

What a joke. How much does Leatherman even pay for the sheaths, A quarter? 😆

I have a Swisstool Spirit X with ratchet driver and bit set . Came with a nice sturdy nylon sheath that just fits all that stuff . Neatly and compact for carry .

Might be pretty difficult to find such a good fit otherwise , short of a custom .

I think it's a bad practice to not at least offer customers a fitted sheath , even if it has to cost something extra .

I was never very impressed with the Leatherman sheaths anyway and if they don't include them it's no big deal to me. I have found dozens of sheaths of the same quality of better for sale for under $15 for nylon and under $25 for leather, no reason to be picky that the sheath says Leatherman or has a logo on it. I will probably just buy the Victorinox multi tool next time around because they feel stronger and I've never even seen a picture of one with broken jaws.
