Leatherman is not going to include the sheath or the accessories once supplied

I have a Swisstool Spirit X with ratchet driver and bit set . Came with a nice sturdy nylon sheath that just fits all that stuff . Neatly and compact for carry .

Might be pretty difficult to find such a good fit otherwise , short of a custom .

I think it's a bad practice to not at least offer customers a fitted sheath , even if it has to cost something extra .

For the record, there's also a leather sheath available for the Spirit Xs with all of the additional items, but it's really blocky and sticks pretty far off the belt when full, so as a general rule, I tend not to carry it often.

I was never very impressed with the Leatherman sheaths anyway and if they don't include them it's no big deal to me. I have found dozens of sheaths of the same quality of better for sale for under $15 for nylon and under $25 for leather, no reason to be picky that the sheath says Leatherman or has a logo on it. I will probably just buy the Victorinox multi tool next time around because they feel stronger and I've never even seen a picture of one with broken jaws.

Admittedly the Victorinox tools are beautiful, albeit a bit slick due to their finish. They try to offset this a bit by making the "arms" of the tool angled a tad in order to provide better grip. I find my LM Arc a better overall use experience as a result, but that Spirit X...that's a beautiful multitool.

I kept a bit kit in my wallet for years, but I almost never used it and eventually took it out to save space. I don't mind the proprietary flat drivers at all, but it just wound up being vanishingly rare that I would need a specific driver from the kit, aside from the Philips and flathead, at a time when I didn't have access to the rest of my tools.

What I do keep in my wallet (when I bother to carry it) is the driver extension. That thing is freaking great. Takes standard drivers, is long and thin enough for most tasks, and holds securely on both ends.

I don't personally use their sheaths anymore. I tried the one that shipped with the Arc but it was surplus to requirements. The sheath for my original Wave closed with velcro, and once that wore out, it was worse than useless. I've passed the event horizon on belt sheaths. Pocket clips are the way forward.

I have been looking at. Sheaths and I am growing interested it cases instead. I carry a “possibles bag” instead of a wallet. In it I keep my cards, iPhone, an Anker Powercore battery to recharge it, and my Apple Watch if necessary, a small flashlight, etc. in a zippered case I can keep the multitool and whatever accessaries that go with it.

With the sheath issue, I have been looking at what is available. I purchased this set to get the case it came with. The Multitool is a good one, and the pen is very useful. It also had a flashlight, which was total junk; I have several high-quality flashlights to replace it. Honestly, I would have just purchased the case had it been available by itself.

I put in a Leather Multitool case as a search term and hit pay dirt. I am going to replace my Leatherman sheath with one of these cases. So far, nothing I have looked at is more the $40 bucks.

Here is one of dozens of choices. Tourbon Leather Multitool Sheath, $35 bucks.

I posted a pic some years ago here about a Wave that that I snapped the pliers on with my wrist strength. I was shocked, and they honored the warranty and sent it back repaired for free. But I've never quite trusted it since then....

I like a couple Leatherman I’ve owned for some time but honestly, I never carry one as they are too bulky in pocket and I don’t like anything on my belt unless I am hunting…and in my job, I have dedicated tools (tool tray) to do the jobs that Leatherman tools are supposed to be handy with. My Leatherman is usually in my backpack in the work truck and might get occasional use at home in the house where I usually have a plier, or scissor or cutting edges of different styles for whatever…so not much use there either…if I wander into the woods, I may have a usefully outfitted Swiss knife or a Buck 110 as I’ve never found a need for an obtrusive plier cladden multi-tool in the outdoors and I recently came across a victorinox knife with the small plier which is outstanding if not a little small. So personally, a bunch of hex bits and accessories and sheath for a fidget gadget is to me, superfluous. I like a good medium to small jack in pocket and clip one larger knife to my pocket and have a Vic classic on each of our two vehicles’ key rings and I have 3 times the cutlery crap than the average Joe or Jill carries these days….I do like to fidget with my Leatherman and gerber and SOG super tool but those are all a pain in the cooroo to carry…..smiley face here…

One thing I am doing is attaching strong neodymium magnets to the sheaths so I can snap them to any ferrous surface. Neodymium magnets are cheap. One I am using is 1.26 inches in diameter and can lift 110 pounds. They tuck nicely into the belt loop on the cases.
