Well it's been a long wait. But the USPS Guy as good to me today.

Lee Reeves double bit axe with Osage handle. Haven't used it for anything yet.... but rest assured.... I will:D

You can see here the one edge for clear wood and skinning, and the thicker edge for knotty or frozen wood.

For those of us that know about this axe it has been written about quite a bit. I'll post a short review after I get the chance to use it.

how about a side by side shot of the axe and a fixed blade, for size reference....

Here ya go. The axe is 15" long and 6" from edge to edge. It's the perfect "pocket axe" IMHO. Of course I have not used it yet, but that will change soon:D

Thanks for all the "congrats". I knew you folks would appreciate it:thumbup:

I have one and I love it.

I've had it for 2 years and used it on almost every packing trip.

I had him make mine shorter, like Nessmuk's original 12" and it weighs like a pound and a couple ounces but cuts like something much heavier.

Great for backpacking. The double bit design seems to make it lighter than a square poll hatchet of the same size it seems to me.

You will love it.

That's a real beauty. Lee does some amazing work, and I really like that osage!

I have never heard of him until now, I am going to get a Belt axe.....it looks awesome. Your double bit is the bee's nee's by the way:D

I like Reeves Belt Axe a lot, but I'm not sold on a short double bit. A double bit to me needs more control and for me that means a handle length allowing a good two hand swing. Despite the size issue, Reeves' double bit looks great, his attention to detail is outstanding.
