Each piece thus far has been truly exceptional, and I have no doubt that the completed series will stand as a legacy to the art and craft of custom knifemaking.

This dagger is really something to behold just in photos - it must be something close to mind-blowing in person.
 
Well if I were in charge it would win awards for best Damascus, Best Art Knife, Best Handle Design, and Best Collaboration!! So many categories it could win in. Good luck John. Over the top!!
 
Well said Ron if it is laying on a table I was thinking of putting my knife in I would think again about where I might put my knife. This one is just to good. Good luck John I would say Best in show and best Damascus
 
Thank you each and every one for your complements.

The attempt to make this series special, and the collaboration with Joe and Brian, have been a source of focus for me.

I'm really glad so many I respect seem to like the result.

It was a real honor and a privilege to check this piece out in Arkansas. It is flawless, in execution and design. Beautiful work, John. As others have said, well deserving of the title Legacy.
 
I think the pros and/or quality blade afficionados have pretty much said it all, but I'll still add a 'WOW....!'
 
As they always do, John's Legacy knives have plenty of advance notice. John let me know when it was arriving, so I was fully aware of what I'de be unpacking.

Nonetheless, once you draw this out of the protective pouch, it still steals a vocal "Ooooohhhh. Wow." It's a reflexive response.

A pleasure to see and involve myself with. Highest of marks to the skilled craftsman, and the supporting patron!
