Legalities of selling knives.

A general liability policy, while certainly a good idea for any business venture, won't do squat for you in issues involving illegal sales or illegal transit. That is why you must become knowledgeable of what knives you can sell and to whom in your area. I don't profess to be an expert in the area of law or insurance but I have been in the later field for over 20 years.

As a side note, if you sell internationally, check out the Fish and Wildlife regulations. Stag, horn, shell, and some woods (ebony's and rosewood's) are required to be documented on the label and a license held to export. A $90 inspection fee for EACH box so labeled and a fine if not labeled or not licensed (and they can retrofit the fines to any suspicious outbound package from the past). About $450 fines/penalties for each occurrence and they can go back in your records for years.... There are a lot of the big boys that will have to file Ch11 the first time they get inspected.
