Thank you for the comparison pics, and your thorough explanation of the two knives. I really appreciate it. Great milling on your Talos! They do indeed have something I love about each of 'em.

Though, as you can see, McNees manages to squeeze the same amount of blade into a shorter length handle:

The McNees also has a tad taller blade with more belly as well. It also bears mentioning that I wear a size XL glove, and can get a full saber grip on both these knives with no issues:

As for fit and finish, they both have the effect they were going for in spades. Les George is the master of the "polished stonewash", the finish on his knives has a depth to it that you can't really capture in pictures. The McNees is perfectly stonewashed everywhere, and I mean perfectly. I've got several heavy stonewash knives like this, and each of 'em have marks where the maker/manufacturer was like "Eh, the stonewash'll cover it, it'll be fine." McNees don't play that game. They expect this tool to be used, and want it to look good for as long as possible when you do it. There are a lot of things to admire about both makers and how they design and make knives. The answer to this thread truly is: why not both?
I've heard that before, though it may have been you on here saying that somewhere else, and I've never understood it. I've never had an issue with the lockbar pressure thing. I hold the McNees the same way I do any knife and it has the snappiest action of any thumbstud knife I've ever handled and that includes VECPs. Then again I've never had that issue with any framelock so I guess I naturally hold a knife differently.
Man don’t give up on it. It gets better and better with use. Does need to break in a little bit. Only have a couple and they are excellent. The quantum flipper does feel a lot better than my f95.I cant put my finger on it. A specific design attribute that causes it. I've had it on several to varying degrees. The worst being this MEFP Shiro. Sold it a week or two after buying it new.

Honestly, both are great, I lean towards LG, but there is no wrong buy here!I’d choose the Talos myself, if I could actually find one for sale.
You tell them Mitch, all hail to the king Les !My next recommendation would be the Myna. Rivals the vecp for my overall favorite. Very snappy flipper with great ergos on the grip and the reverse tanto is a fun blade to use. I wasn’t a reverse tanto fan till I got this knife. It’s an excellent design.
One mo time
