Les Robertson AKA woodworkghost

I consigned my knives to Les because I had a pretty rounded collection of Bowies and wanted to move them. What happened is the wanted makers sold the others did not.(and Les is going to chime in here at some point and give his analogy.
After my stroke I posted in Custom knives for sale and was unindated with e/mails about my Bowies. At the time I could not deal with overstimulated brain. Also got back to guys who said Iwant this,I want that ect.Email them back and they have every excuse not to buyect.I do not deal with that kind of BS
In retrospect I should have sorted it out myself and take the money talks, the bull$hit walks attitude and sold them myself.I made a mistake.
Les is a good guy and I still hope we can do some business later.
I always thought and still do,that he has had my best interest at heart.
Another downside to this stroke stuff is I have no patience at all, none.I think maybe i jumped the gun a bit,but I have been in a bad way forsix months or so and I need to make some changes.I will get better.Won't have much of a knife collection, but I'll be living up in Montana fishing every chance I get

nifrand,
Although I have not had the pleasure of getting to know you, I was moved by the post I quote here to write and say that I see in your post why you have a stand-up reputation around here. I have worked with a lot of stroke survivors (as a health care provider), and it takes a lot of grit to stand up and say what you said here. I salute you Sir, and wish you a full recovery, and frequent trout hook-ups. It must be hard to divest yourself of your fine collection, but I sure respect your attitude, and I hope you get so busy fishing that your loss is offset with "sun on the river".
Best,

edited just to add: I have bought a couple of knives from Les Robertson, and it has been a pleasure with excellent service and communication.

Whats interesting here is that the only people that have responded are people that are currently happy with Les. Whats also interesting here is that Les has responded in his own inimitable way, that being that he is never responsible and there is always an excuse for Les not doing something, family issues etc. Im suggesting that Les has pissed off a lot of people over the years with his attitude. Your supposed to post pictures, your supposed to have a web site, your supposed to take knives to shows to sell, you`re supposed to buy knives at shows to resell. Les sounds like the the man who says that he`s a good Father because he puts food on the table. That your job as a father and doing so doesnt make you a good father any more than Les having a web site makes him a good purveyor or reputable dealer. Any one else ever had the opportunity to hear Les pontificate? Any one else else had the opportunity to hear Les ramble on for hours about what a piece of shit most makers(some of whom he reps) are? Any one else ship a knife to be sold by Les and have him have it sharpened by another maker and and then take forever to return the knife when it didnt sell? Any body tried to trade in a knife to Les and be told no he won`t take the knife back in trade, contrary to his policy? (Read the fine print its not just one maker that he won`t take back in trade) Any one else ever hear Les sit at his table at a show and bitch that his sales wont pay for the cost of attending? Being a dealer means going to shows. I know Les doesn`t respond to emails or phone calls when there is a problem, perceived or otherwise. My goodness he goes weeks without updating his web site. Is it so hard to believe that Les that may not have followed up with nifrand in a timely and responsible manner? Have you ever been a slow pay with anyone Les, be it a dealer or a customer? Have you ever refused to stand behind what you`ve said? Answer honestly!!
