Les Storud interviewed by local radio station here

Les is pretty cool and I've learned some things from watching. My opinion may change, however, if he starts sucking down his own urine like that other bonehead or spending the night in hotels instead of the jungle. Lets hope he keeps it real in the upcoming episodes. DT

I am hoping the powers that be at the Discovery Channel have not pressured Stroud to compete with Grylls. Even some people on this forum say they find Man Vs. Wild entertaining. Imagine what Joe Sixpack thinks?

The bottom line is ratings. I guess the new episodes of Survivorman will have the answer.
 
I emailed the show and asked if they could post up the podcast of the interview. We'll see where that goes. If they put it up, It probably won't be until next week.

You'd think if they posted up the podcast of the Dog the Bounty Hunter interview, they'd also do the Les Stroud one. Nothing against Dog, but all he was doing was pushing his new book.
 
In the brief time his website's discussion forum was up I got the impression that Les Stroud was decent guy who tried to make a decent show.

Well, one thing about Les Stroud vs Bear Grylls is that I seriously don't think you'll ever see Stroud squeezing drinking water from an elephant turd or urinating into his only canteen.
 
Survivorman is a lot better than MvW. I think that MvW is merely entertaining, while Survivorman is entertaining and informative and the informative part make it more entertaining to me. Plus Bear seems kinda douche-y.
 
They are re-airing the interview right now. That prompted me to check their website for the podcast, and lo and behold, it's there. However, finder is the finder, and he beat me to posting the link. Good find finder!
