Well it's time for a lessons learned type of story.......Remember this old thread? http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=436600 and this old ebay auction?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...EAFB:IT&viewitem=&item=180053572733&rd=1&rd=1
To make a long story short all I got for a lot of money is the same pic of a closed auction that you all got. The seller/thief is in the UK. I'm not posting this to get any sympathy it's to share the lessons I've learned. I asked you guys for some advice and did not follow all of that advice and as a result left me with an empty bag and empty pockets.....so to speak.
Rule #1: If you win an ebay auction and don't know who the seller is make sure you use one of their protected payment services....or they will not help you in any way....their comment to me was "To Bad So Sad".
Rule #2: Don't pay with a money transfer. I sent the seller who had been communicating with me quickly and politely a money transfer from Western Union. This was a big mistake.....if some ask's you to pay in this manner don't do it and suspect it is a fraud. If I would have opened the WU web site I would have been discouraged from paying for this item immediately.....However, I went to the local WU outlet and they did not say a word, they even helped me to fill out the WU paper work....I'd never sent a money transfer before in my life.....and never will again. WU said very politely......."Oh you have been de-frauded"....."you should never send a money transfer to someone you don't know"!!!!!! They also will not give you any information at all about the person who ripped you off.
Rule #3: Check out the information the seller has posted on ebay. You can use the contact the seller from the information they posted.....this may save you some heartaches when you learn the name, address, and phone numbers are all fake. Do the leg work before you send your hard earned money!!!!!!
Rule #4: If it seems to good to be true.......well what can I say.....good deals are out there.....But, buyer beware!!!!!
I could have, should have and now would have done things differently.......So please don't set yourself up for disappointment like I did. Learn from my costly mistake. I was in a hurry to close this deal....I took the easy way to do it.......The con man/woman tossed out the bait and I swallowed it hook line and sinker. I knew I'd been ripped off about two weeks after this auction closed.....But, never gave up hope that it would work out. But, now I hope this rogue gets what he/she has coming....it's not my place to sit in judgment though.
