Let’s Get Started

My favorites are the Fargo series and Dirk Pitt, don’t care for the Issac Bell series.
"The Chase" was pretty good. That is the only Cussler/Bell book I've read. Picked it up really cheap and Barnes and Noble, turns out it was signed by Cussler.

I think you guys are long over due if things allow it, life happens, of course. I suggest a short road trip, maybe a three or four day long weekend? What about any festivals or events near by? John, I think you can take some of that liberal leave stuff they been talking about. :D

Hey, do ya have to be a liberal, to get that leave stuff?

Anybody got any good, big foot stories as of late?

I met a man in rural Georgia a few years ago that had two encounters. It’s where I learned that they actually live underwater and that’s why you never find remains. They rarely come on dry land.

Sounds like the Big Muddy Monster that hangs out around the Big Muddy River near Murphysboro Illinois. (That’s where Connie is from, all her relatives talk about it)

Both my brothers seen Shawnee Boy, I only heard him.Yes, he is real, ask anyone around Karbers Ridge,IL. just east of The Garden of the Gods.

I thought that was the creature from the deep dark lagoon. Must cause havoc on all that hair they have to try and condition.

I must be defective. I've never seen a cryptid, alien, UFO, or ghost. Nothing that couldn't be explained.

I've never seen a ghost either but when my oldest son was a baby I had several incidents that I couldn't explain. We lived in a house that was built in the late 1800's and I still know little about it's history.
Early one morning while the rest of my family was still in bed I was downstairs drinking coffee. I heard a child's giggle then heard what sounded like a ball bouncing down the stairs. Thinking my son had climbed out of his bed I rushed up the stairs concerned he might fall. I was shocked to see him sound asleep. I woke his mother up and she said she hadn't heard anything. I went back downstairs and searched everywhere but never found a ball.
I didn't tell anyone about it for several months. I
don't know what it was but writing this makes the hairs on my neck stand up reliving that morning.

Matt Dillon all day! Assuming we are talking about "Marshall Dillon of Gunsmoke" James Arness, and not the actor matt dillon.
Arness was 6'7" tall. Lucas would not be able to get close enough even tho he was, in reality, a pro athlete. Mister Dillon would have only needed one good punch. Now if it was a shoot out, I'm with the Rifleman for sure!

Yes, the Rifleman vs the Marshall!

Chuck Connors was 6'6" if I remember right B JACKSON?

With that said, I think Matt could take him in a fist fight, but would eat dirt in any kind of gun fight!

Well, I looked it up and Connors was 6ft 5-1/2" tall, thats bigger than I thought so maybe I'll reduce ny initial bet on Marshall Dillon some. More of a fair fight than i reckoned on even the the has to be a 40lb weight difference. I would not care to tangle with eithar one!

Shared this in the swamp rat thread since I frequent there as well, but it seems fitting here as well now that I'm starting to acquire JK's knives as well.

Starting to get back to that time of year when the weather and insects are more tolerable. I didn't get the infiweiler out today as it ended up being 100% machete work today. But, I got some pictures of the greenery and a few wildlife in the swamps of Michigan.

Lots of berries on the trees and plenty of flowers around too. Could hear the birds eating the berries but it was too thick to see them.

And this very green dragonfly graced me with his presence. Very cool little creatures. Dark black wings. Not sure I've seen this color combo before, but it's pretty close to the ratweiler (haven't stripped it yet).
