Let’s talk hunting knives. (Traditional)

Great collection. For me, the LB7 would be plenty.
It's the only knife I owned for many, many years.

I don't take big or beautiful knives like this Randall when I hunt; the plain BUCK 102 is always up to the task. If I hunted anything larger than a deer I might take something a little bigger for a backup. I use a saw now to go through the sternum on a game animal. I have not tried to cut through the pelvic arch for many years or even break the skin there; it is foolishness and destructive to clean meat. It accomplishes absolutely nothing. Your mileage may differ, of course.
Many many years ago when I was a boy, my Father's best Friend, Shorty C. took me rabbit hunting. He showed me how to disembowel a bunny without a knife. He said "Just grab him very tightly around the ribs and sling him as hard as you can back through your legs and the guts will go right out the back." He was right. They came out the back and wound themselves around my neck and face, to his great amusement.

where are they listed for sale?

Nice work mate 👍

Thank You.
He's an Avid hunter and fisherman.
I hope he makes great use of it, and doesn't lose it..... (He's the perfect example of a User) To him, a knife is a tool.... Not like some of us, who drool looking at knives, like we are looking at a pretty girl.

* I'm hoping to convert him.
plus, I Need to teach knife making to someone, someday.....

I haven't laughed that hard in a while! I'll have to teach one of my friends that trick next time wabbit season starts.

I was one of those folks most of my life, so there is hope to convert him!

I wish I had someone locally that wanted to teach the trade, I’d love to do it.

Very nice collection. I have a vintage Browning like yours in the back left that was a gift from a guy who had used it on many successful hunts, and I used quite a bit too. I treasure that knife.
I've had that Browning longer than any knife I own. I bought it at a gun show in Monett, Missouri around 1979-80.

That’s similar to how I learned to gut rabbit. Except in my instance you hold the back legs and the ears, flick sideways and bobs your uncle. If they’re not coming out you can let go of the ears part way through the swing and give it some extra force.

The easiest I ever cleaned a rabbit was with my grandpa's old 20 ga. Remington full choke pump gun. Led him just right going left to right and the shot took his head clean off. As he did 3or 4 somersaults in his momentum, he left a trail of guts behind him. When I picked him up, the work was all done!
