I use these particular Ruana knives; they are not the safequeens. These are made by the Grandsons of the famous Rudy Ruana and he would be proud of their quality. Mark and Mike Hangas of Bonner, Montana learned under Grandpa and under their Dad Victor Hangas. All superb cutlers. I had the good fortune to visit the shop a few years ago. There are some excellent videos on the internet on their work. At least two books are also readily available. Good old-school 1095 or similar; some of the first ones by Grandpa were from Studebaker springs. The four men (two deceased) have made every knife by hand beginning in 1938. All forged, no stock removal. Elk antler is the most prevalent handle inserts. Iron wood is also seen here. Those flap-over sheaths are the most practical ever (I am unhappy that BUCK quit using them). I added two danglers with quick-release D-rings on a couple of those sheaths.
