Fantastic thread!

All great knives.

I remember when CAS posted that Scagel inspired knife. I think I nearly swooned.

So many great knives posted so far!

I got a nice Sambar taper at our knife club Christmas exchange, but it was too short. What do you do with short stag? Make a Scagel, of course. After the thread above, now it's time to show the knife I made.

This knife is 1080 carbon steel, mill scale on the flats, 600 grit satin finish on the bevels. In true Scagel style, the guard and butt cap are brass, with fiber, leather, and brass spacers. This knife is held together with a threaded rod and nut under the butt plate, and the butt is pinned on with four pins. Good luck figuring out where the pins are. This is as close to as flawless of a guard fit as I've ever done. OAL is 10" with a 5 1/4 blade.

Wow!
Your work turned out great!

That knife will be a lifetime of pride and joy for any hunter!

Regards
Mikael

This Scagel tribute was made by my Australian friend Nick Powell.
Blade is S35VN stainless.

Beautiful knives, all of them.
But I think that this thread should be incomplete without at least one of 2G knives, by Spanish Master Rodrigo Mulero. This is mine.

Forged blade of 52100, convex profile but nor so perfect craftsmanship. Of course it isn´t at the same level of the pieces in this thread, but it isn´t that bad.
Maybe the blade pattern isn´t very 'scagelian', but on the other hand, it´s a real user, with a perfect size as a hunter´s main knife, wonderful edge - and easy to restore- and excelent ergonomy.
Hope you like it.
