and this one from a 3rd party site using the "share link"...link

My reason for sticking with a 3rd party site for hosting my pictures is that I'm always using different devices to read the forums. Keeping the pictures on a 3rd party let's me access then whenever I want on whatever device.

They both work!

I love the Thuya HB NOLA NOLA

The problem is that there is no "upload" button left of "post reply" I looked for something like that before I ever posted my question. Tried Firefox, Chrome and tried MS Edge. All it has it "post reply" and "more options" which just takes me to a page to complete my post. I had already seen where you post a link to an online picture posting site. I'm fairly computer literate and knew that I could post pictures in something like Photobucket that people used, but I've never been able to embed a picture in my post. Thanks for the help, maybe I'll try it on my iPad.

Strange. Maybe only gold members have that option.

I have an “Upload a file” button available.

Its really to the right of the post reply button..my brain must have been backwards . It has to do with your membership level like previously mentioned. Atleast thats all i can figure out.

I've been a member of the forums for years but have never posted any pictures. Can someone tell me the best and easiest way to do that?
Depending on your membership level, you can upload files to your BladeForums profile directly from your photo library on your PC or whatever device you’re using. I think you’re allowed a certain amount of file storage on the forum at Gold level or above.
For those without that membership level, whatever 3rd party host you use will usually have a ‘Share’ option that you can click once you pull up the pic you’d like to post. For example, in Fotki, when you choose your image to post, you can click share, then copy and paste the URL that is titled “URL for Forums.” You paste that url directly into your post, no brackets or anything else required. Good luck!

Gorgeous knife! But OH MY that camera!!! I have and love my Fujifilm X camera, but a Leica has been a permanent resident on my wishlist for too many years to count.

So that begs the question, why oh why are most of my forum pics taken with my iPhone?! I know the answer, but man what photo quality I sacrifice by just using the most convenient camera.

Speaking of that, I should take it out and take some real pics of my Hiking Buddy for this thread. My other HB will have to wait since it’s in the US.

thanks! on most weekend days, I always have one of my cameras with me. it's the way I justified paying a lot of money for them. The Leica's (I have an M6TTL and an MP) are film cameras, so chances are your phone camera may take photos with higher resolution LOL (though it isn't all about resolution). I actually use the Fuji x system for digital as yourself, I like the tactile aspect of it that's similar with working with my film cameras. I just couldn't justify paying double what I paid for each of my film Leicas for a Leica digital, just to have it go obsolete in couple years, whereas I know I'll have my film cameras for rest of my life (hopefully given to my kids).

the link below has some examples of photos I've taken with film, Fuji digital, and my cell phone here (well I think I only have two film shots, such a pain to scan it and upload, so I normally just print them)....at the end of the day, I think it's more about the moment, composition, and lighting than the resolution. Some of my favorite photos in the streets were taken with my cell LOL

But then again, for product shots, that extra resolution helps LOL

It was a nice reprieve from work to scroll through your pics. I even spotted one with a knife! ;)

4th from the bottom of the 2nd page of the photo stream - where was that taken?

Oyster Oyster Hi thanks! hmmm...depending on the size of the browser, the alignment of the photos may be different, so not 100% sure which photo you're referring to. can you describe the scene please? and yeah, for general gallery, i don't do much photos of my hobby gear/tools :)

Likewise. My IG page is mostly art-related.
Street scene. In color. Cobblestones. Could be southern Germany

Or I scrolled too quickly and am totally off...

Oyster Oyster haha, easy mistake to make. it is not too far off from certain parts of Germany you are right (I used to travel to Frankfurt and Munich for work a lot). Stockholm tends to have a "cold" ambiance about it, best I can describe the difference off the top of my memory.

You know, it probably would have helped if I had remembered to renew my "gold" membership. A "upload a file" magically appears. Anyway, here is my favorite hiking buddy.
