  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Let's bitch about (finger) cuts for a minute..

Using honey is something I learned from my grandma. Sometimes "old knowledge" works rather well :)
But yeah, you need to use the "good" honey, the pasteurising kills all the good stuff in cheaper honey.

Buy local from someone who is proud of their product and processes

The "honey" you get in big chains is possibly manufactured and contaminated with prohibited drugs and toxins

There are more pages, the links at the bottom are small

It scares me that we source food from countries that have no ethics on supplying fake and harmful products.

I've handled the cuts OK. They are usually quick contact with the wheel abrasions. I took a machete tip to the leg once because they were sitting on the floor with clamps on them. I had a small runin with the tablesaw once, but that was before knives.

However, this week I was diagnosed with arthritis in my thumb on my left hand. This is a different kind of crappy:grumpy:.

Greetings,

We craftsman have all experienced the drawbacks of our trade. I keep a small first aid kit in my shop, band-aids, super glue, butterflies, rubber gloves.
Just as the thread title states....

hagatha

I have yet to cut myself on a knife that wasn't finished....

 Don't jinx it!!

But seriously, it's not only the knives you have to worry about. A 36 grit belt can rip you open in the blink of an eye. Or the bandsaw. Or the drill press. I have a lot of respect for my equipment and safety, but I know it's bound to happen at some point and I try to stay as vigilant as I can to avoid it if possible.

If you haven't been hurt, that's really awesome! I genuinely wish I could say that. But please, please be prepared for when, not if, but when you have an accident. I most definitely try not to boast about a safety record if it exists. I always thought that was some kind of bad juju. Workplaces with the big "x amount of days with no accidents" poster that always has a low number really makes the employee moral boost up...
