LETS DRINK! Laughing is ok too! Watch knifehunter flip a canoe!

Glad you made it Bro. Looks like you hade a blast. It's been awhile since I have been on a drunken canoe float. Seeing this makes me want to go forget another one.

We used to use ankle ropes to the coolers so they couldn't get away and smokes always go in ziploc bags. The rest of the stuff can float away for all I care but gots to have the cooler and smokes.

Watershed bags and pelican boxes!! I swear by them and you would to.

On a serious note:

Always wear your life jacket!!!! Three people have drowned here in the past four weeks on the New River that runs right past my house. We raft it and enjoy ourselves every year, but it just takes a moments lapse to turn fun into funeral.

I like to put away the beer myself and also drink quite a few on the river but it depends on the trip, it is important to realize and be familiar with the conditions you will encounter. Parts of this river here I know that I can enjoy fishing, drink a few beers, and safely guide everyone down (at a certain water level.) The water level changes and there are times that I will not get on the river.

The upper part of the New River is pretty sane, while the Lower New is what the out of state thrill seekers flock here for. If I take a trip through the Gorge my lady's uncle guides our boat, since he used to do it for a living, and I trust him not to drown me. We have still had our moments (all of them sober.)

Sorry about the rant, but I value all of you guys and gals!

Randy

Maybe this setup would be better?

Amen to that! I was on the Wisconsin River in a boat below the Wisconsin Dells dam years back. Lots of rain and flooding that spring. We heard the horn go off at the dam and what was a calm peaceful lazy day of fishing turned into hell in about 10 minutes. They opened the dam gates fully and it became very turbulent real quick. I always kept "off-shore" PDF's in the boat and they went on real quick.

Wear those PDF's !
