LETS DRINK! Laughing is ok too! Watch knifehunter flip a canoe!

Maine - I'll be starting my day watching this vid for awhile :D

Kinda reminds me of that song about Flat Bottom Girls :D

:D Those Canoes are for Midgets Brother. You need a Wide glide!! Kinda like I do also;)

Thanks for the Laugh:thumbup:

Have fun T, hope ya catch some nice fish.
the video was classic thanks for sharing.

Looks like a blast to me, but be careful out there. I am still paying for some things I did on whitewater in my 20's 30's and 40's. (even have a few lumps to remember some rocks by.) :D.

That was awesome. Thanks for sharing. Canoes are very unstable. Might want to consider helmet on the river as well. Seal-line bags are good on the water.

hey bro, that is the truth not a rant, like bastid said, i can vouch for the statement he made as well, what looks like a level 3 can turn into a harsh 5 in just a moment and there is a reason why the tell you to keep your feet up and head tucked when you come out of the hole, because your survival rate is much greater!!
trevor i would be in for a run as long as the water was not up, level 3 is plenty high enough for me!!!

have fun bro and stay safe will holla next week...

Watershed bags and pelican boxes!! I swear by them and you would to.

On a serious note:

Always wear your life jacket!!!! Three people have drowned here in the past four weeks on the New River that runs right past my house. We raft it and enjoy ourselves every year, but it just takes a moments lapse to turn fun into funeral.

I like to put away the beer myself and also drink quite a few on the river but it depends on the trip, it is important to realize and be familiar with the conditions you will encounter. Parts of this river here I know that I can enjoy fishing, drink a few beers, and safely guide everyone down (at a certain water level.) The water level changes and there are times that I will not get on the river.

The upper part of the New River is pretty sane, while the Lower New is what the out of state thrill seekers flock here for. If I take a trip through the Gorge my lady's uncle guides our boat, since he used to do it for a living, and I trust him not to drown me. We have still had our moments (all of them sober.)

Sorry about the rant, but I value all of you guys and gals!

Randy

It's amazing how those little holes can cause so much trouble! There's a lesson in everything! My son and I did the same thing last year on the third rapid on the middle Yough at Ohiopyle. Definitely a different perspective when you are the one in (out) of the boat! Looks like fun though!
