Let's give Buck some new product ideas

From AllOutdoor.com:

The puukko is a Finnish knife, and the name lends itself to the Finnish word “puukotta,” which means “to stab/knife.” The prefix, “puu” means “wood” in Finnish. The design of the puukko is attributed to the indigenous Sami people, who created several knives to use for day to day tasks; the puukko was the smaller option, used to skin fish or animals. Although historical records vary, the puukko dates back about 1000 years. Both men and women carried (and carry) puukkos, although the sizes change depending on the person, as the puukko handle is meant to fit the hand size of the user.

John Ek's original knives didn't have a finger guard either and he demonstrated the stabbing power of his knife by stabbing thru a silver dollar. He made his knives by special request of US Soldiers starting in WWII and continued until his death in the 70's....
Well the knives on this forum were created by an American family for day to day task too and were made for our troops in WWII as well. And Yada yada yada, blah blah blah thats why we are Diehard Buck collectors and i think Buck knives offer every kind and style of knife for any task most of us will ever do.
So yes lets keep it on subject please.

Nice! I did not know those existed! Both my 117 specials came with black 105 sheaths (too long). The Brahma sheaths aren’t any good to me either (too bulky, & a little goofy).

So I had 5 117’s and no sheaths. So I was pumped when I found the brown ones.

Your all set with that USA 117 Sheath.
You got 105 sheaths with your 5-117’s? Not from factory were they?

Yes. They came from the factory in 105 sheaths about an inch too long. Until now I thought they all came that way. It must have just been the first 100?

So is it SOP here to ask for ideas and then piss all over any that you don't like? My mistake, I guess I should have suggested some boring old model with a blade cutout, turquoise inlays, a feather on the pommel, and a sheath covered with rhinestones. Maybe you all would have been more tolerant of that. I guess we'll never know.

Just opinion. But if i wanted a Finish styled knife i would get it from a Finish company considering that particular knife has a lot of tradition and was symbolic. But the comment about making them for the troops and all seemed to indicate that the poster didn't know the Buck history?
I was and am not trying to step on anyones toes.

No ones pissing all over your idea. You're just suggesting a knife that you can buy in any WM for 10$ and can't get over the fact no one agrees with you....Too Bad!! Get over it!!

I know the history of Buck knives!! I was explaining to gaj999 that just because it didn't have a finger guard it was still used for stabbing and if you would take 10 seconds to read about the subject that you're getting ready to post about instead of bouncing off of the walls all the time I would appreciate it. You haven't got a clue what that conversation was about so read up before posting...

I’ve tried to rein him in with no luck! Lol! Good luck Sass.

Like you I appreciate his enthusiasm for the subject. Ed

A 55 auto would be pretty cool, they used to make their knives in California so how throwing one this way and making an auto for the California Buck fans who can't buy or carry the 110 auto ?

I don't know if I'd have one, but they sure would be cool.
