  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Let's go to the match(es)

Nice to see knives from this side of the Atlantic in action in France, JP and  !!;)

When we moved into our rental cabin on Lake Huron in the middle of August, we found a little "welcome basket" in the middle of the circular dining/card/puzzle table. One of the items in the basket was a box of matches. I took some photos, remembering that there was some kind of "matches thread" I'd seen years ago on The Porch. I found the thread, and here are my vacation match photos.

One side of the matchbox had a map of the Les Cheneaux Islands. I'll post 2 pics of that side, one with knife and matchbox closed and one with both knife and matchbox open:

The other side of the matchbox gave contact info about the place we stayed. And what a fortuitous coincidence, the matchbox, my knife bolster, and the table all had an anchor image on them!! Anchors Aweigh, my boys! 🤓:cool:

After we returned home at the end of August, I noticed that we had a decorative matchbox holder on the tank of our toilet in the main floor bathroom, so I took a photo of that with a Schrade 293 trapper that Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 had generously sent me while we were away.

They used to do that at the camp we used to rent on Kayuta Lake.

They died and their kids sold the camp.
