G Greasepiggy Wow, a Victor 441 Special decal in your picture. A bike I've desired my whole life. I graduated HS in 1971, my memory is that was the last year and the displacement was bumped to 500cc. Could not afford one as a young man, then life happened and there were other priorities. Now as I start my 8th decade I have the wherewithal to buy anything I want but fear I've aged out... I feel much more mortal now.

My 441 was a ‘68 B44 Victor Roadster (Shooting Star). I wanted the Victor, couldn’t find a suitable one, and the Roadster differed mechanically by only a tooth on the rear sprocket so I got that and made it my own. Motor and gearbox rebuilt, ported head, supertrapp muff welded to a reinforced BSA header (no more cracks from vibration), trials universal tires, bobbed alloy fenders and a BSA scrambles/Trials solo seat, and… it was geared up considerably!
I rode that thing for around 10 years or so. It would ride rings around all the HD big twins my buddies had. Times change and things change and I sold it ‘cuz I was tired of traffic.
A year or so later we moved unexpectedly to a rural area and the first thing I thought was - I wish I still had that BSA!!!
Sadly No pics of the bike survive…
But it was a real good time!
