Yes. It is a shame. With his issues, I was always shocked he had survived as long as he did. Some times the demons overcome. RIP. HE left us great music.

Just came across this, I was oblivious to his craziness up through the third STP album even after hearing about all of his antics. Interstate Love Song will probably play at my funeral, not that'll I'll be there to argue :P

My family does the most magnificent thing from time to time and all get together to play some music. George Jones and Charlie Daniels type. Everyone plays something, horribly sometimes, but most all of us pitch in. It's one of those things that keeps a big sprawled out family together. I played 8 years of concert, marching, and jazz band drums and still have no idea what they're doing other than stomping on the bass pedal. Anywho.... of course some of the young'ish people try and play different stuff from time to time and get quite thoroughly humiliated by the patriarchs of the family. We had a bass, drum, and guitar/singer that started up with this and it was funny, there was no razzing, no bitching about new fangled music one bit. Converting them old bastard to the 90's! :D
