Wow, that would be a PRICEY piece of steel to buy. Really Pricey.
ya it would. When people ask me how much Damascus steel is i tell then to plan on spending around $100 bucks a cubic inch and thats for the simple patterns. I have also seen it around $250 for a cubic inch for advanced patterns from high end makers, its all in what you buy. 1 cubic inch of steel weighs .283 pounds so 1/.283 = 3.533 cubic inches of steel in a pound ad at 100 a cubic inch your looking at $353.35 a pound
kinda makes it look like a rare metal. the size you want is lets see 1.5x10x.1875 = 2.81 x 100 = $281 for what you want. now this is just an idea to keep in mind as prices differ from maker to maker. but its just a average that i have seen.
