There are several patterns that qualify here. Cattle, Cigar, Sportsman, Whittler, and Jacks are a few that come to mind, but many that used a common frame. They all seemed to fade away from popularity with Schrade for some reason around the beginning of the 60's mostly disappeared. Anyway I'd like to see what folks have. Many of them seem to be 3 3/8" and 3 5/8" in size, but some are even over 4". When you show them, a description of the pattern number and closed length would be good.

I only have one to my knowledge. It is a bone stag Schrade Walden with peachseed jigging and 3 3/8" closed length. I believe the pattern was an 8583 in Schrade Cut Co. This one has no pattern stamp. I like the little cut out on the pile side to help get to the pull on the punch blade.

Nice one Thawk,

I am going to have to dig around to find some equal end Schrades.
The last Cut Co I had I trades to Charlie.

Will an Ulster count?

Dale

By all means invite all of the cousins.

LOL :D

OK, 3-3/8 inches, with black composition handles.

There is plenty of blade missing & part of the rear handle. but I still like the old thing! Might have to put some bone on it someday.

Anyone know how to date the tang stamp?

I think it is an earlier one.

Dale

Camp/ scout knives are equal end knives, as are some pens.

These two slim equal end pens appear to be on the same 3-1/8" frame, although the 4 blade has EO scales for the sunk joints. It also has thinner springs and liners than the 3 blade that's configured like ( what would you call it ) a stockman ??, and is about 3/4's as thick.

Neither of these Cut.Co.'s are stamped with a pattern number.

I imagine Charlie will salivate as bad as I am!

Here is a cousin....Camillus #23.
4-1/4", a real fist full.

Not sure of the proper number on this Old Timer.
I have always called it the 114OT, by Ulster & part of the Prince Albert Tobacco promo. 3-5/8 inches.

Let's keep them coming guys!

Dale

Here's another Ulster Old Timer Utility which seem to be showing up thick and fast.

The usual Harness Jack you have grown to expect from me:D!!
This one was made by Schrade Cut Co for DASCO. Dasco was in existence from approx. 1922-1962 according to Goins. I don't know if they continued handling pocketknives after WWII.

I wouldn't say that Joel! each one has it's own character, nice to see the used ones as well as the looked after knives.

Thanks for the comment on the Ulster, the only thing that stops it from being mint are the two tiny spots of patina on the main blade.

By no means Joel!
Your knives have experience & character, and those things make them more valuable to me.

Believe me, I have a few drawers full of "old characters." :D:D

Dale

You GM key knife reminds me of my '55 Pontiac, Joel! I miss that car!!

Wow! What a pile of fine examples, Joel seems you've found the motherlode! Watch out for thawk, he might be eyeballing that cell Hammer Brand:cool:

Thawk I am glad you started this thread!
I didn't realize how many equal end patterns I had that were Schrade related. I just spent almost 2 hours digging out knives, scanning them, & uploading to photo bucket!

I have a mess of these knives!

Picture above - top to bottom:
Camillus -camper pattern
Camillus U.S. Army -camper pattern
Ulster -camper pattern

Picture above - top to bottom:
Camillus, MOP pen knife
Walden Knife Co, jack knife, sadly missing a lot of handle. :(
U.S. contract jack knife, probably Camillus or Pal
Kutmaster jack

Picture above - top to bottom:
Imperial -camper pattern - solid bolsters, not a shell knife
Camco -camper pattern
Western -camper pattern

Picture above - top to bottom:
2 Ulsters -camper patterns at the top
Camillus Cub Scout
Camillus camper
Imperial -scout knife - solid bolsters, not a shell knife
Imperial Hammer Brand -camper pattern - this one is a shell knife

OK guys,
I have more but it is time for someone else to post a few.

When Thawk started this thread I thought I might be able to come up with 4-6 knives. I was shocked  with the number of equal end knives I had that are in some way related to Schrade.
Check your Scout knives, camper knives, pen knives, jack knives & cattle knives.
Let's see what you got!

Thanks to everyone for all of the pics, guys! I see Dale beat me to the punch on the first KAMP KING, glad you dig out all of yours, espially that jumbo french ivory jumbo jack. Eric, that Diamond Edge sure is a beautiful knife as well as that M & G. Joel, I like your Keen Kutter Cattle knife, and the White Camillus Cub Scout. Thanks Fran, for those dandies!!!

I had to go dig out my camp knives too.

And I found one more in the kitchen with a can opener. I had been having an issue with my hand crank can opener, so I opened some fruit cans with this old camp knife. It still sliced right through the cans.

This one is marked MADE IN USA only. No brand name.
