LETS SEE HOW YOU SHARPEN

You can paste links/URLs in text format example https://bladeforums.com
That's what I would do since I don't know how to attach files either.

So your posts would considered spammy also, correct?

Maybe before you keep throwing stones you should read the site rules and get a feel for how the place works.

Because, and I will be straight with you and give you what is friendly advice....you are coming off as the spammiest person in the joint right now, whether you intend to or not.

I wasn't "throwing stones" I was just letting them know what someone else could see it as and told them how to paste links so they show up correctly.

I get that you're trying to help. It would be more helpful if you gave correct info.

@puttekula ...Copy the BB code (message boards & forums) then paste into the text of your message. The image shows in the post with no need to click a link.
If you want more info, there are lots of threads in the Technical Support subforum.

I use a fine ceramic stone from Spyderco, using glycerin as sharpening fluid, to keep the stone from loading.

I always copied the "direct link".
Or he can purchase a Gold Membership and post photos directly from his photo gallery.

JParanee JParanee Interesting to see what you're using Joe. I most often use DMT plates but I'm contemplating adding a couple large Norton bench stones to the arsenal .

I use a wet belt grinder for reprofiling. Freehand for finishing touch. What stone or hone I use for that depends on the item being sharpened and what I feel like using. I have a somewhat ridiculous selection of natural sharpening stones and synthetic hones from collecting over the years.

- Wet & dry silicon carbide paper with WD40 oil on glass and/or rubber
- Tormek T7 with SB-250 Blackstone (black silicon carbide)
- Paper Wheels with diamond powder and/or diamond compounds
- DMT Diafolds
- Spyderco 701MF Profile stones
- MDF and hard cardboard strops with diamond compounds

Started with a Lansky kit. Then got a Sharpmaker with all the rods. Then got tired of the time it took to reprofile anything so I got a Norton Crystolon. Enjoyed it, but didn't want the mess of oil. Got a Sharpal diamond stone (coarse/extra fine) and worked on my technique (sharpening with the stones in hand). Works awesome for me. Got a Spyderco Medium and Fine for finishing, a 220 grit DMT for extra metal removal, homemade strop with some diamond paste. Still have the Norton and a 600 grit (Fine) DMT stone. I find I can use just the diamonds for quickness, or do some finishing on the Spydercos depending on what kind of edge I want. The strop just cleans up the apex a little more when I need it.

I get my edges sharp enough for my needs (and apparently sharper than most people have seen, since people always ask me to sharpen their knives for them...). Still would like to have a Ken Onion Work Sharp for really quick reprofiling. Maybe one day.
