Let's See Some Copperheads!

Is there any information on Alcas floating around the 'net? Very little has ever been said about them, and I'm curious as to what they made/make, is the plant still around, etc. There was an Alcas label sambar stag lockback jumbo trapper on Ebay last night, very very nice!

There was also a very similiar knife out a few years ago, under the Bowen brand. I wonder who built those? They looked quite similiar to the early 1990's Queen Mountain Man, with about the same appearing jigged delrin scales, but I've seen a couple for sale with stag grips.

Heres what I know about the first one- Alcas is part of Alcoa Aluminum. The company started as a partnership with W R Case, originally made high end kitchen cutlery and such. Alcas is still around, and is I believe currently the owner of Kabar and all its trademarks.

As to Bowen, can't help you with that one.

This was a good thread! I salivated for a day or two until I could stand it no longer. I bought my first Copperhead just now. Item number: 330079401656 on eBay. take a look and tell me what you think. Next one will be a Queen 41.
