Lets see some Hinderer action

We've had many dogs over the years, and they've all had one thing in common. They were and are rescue dogs. I wouldn't have it any other way. I've been waiting for a knife that these would go with color wise and I now have one. I really like how this nut set looks on this knife. I also wanted to let others know about them. They also are available in blue.

What do you have in your pivot? Bearings, Teflon or PB washers? I'm just curious if there's actually a big difference between the 3.

Right now it still has the bearings. With the bearings it acts a lot like the ZT 0392. Between my sheepsfoot XM-18 and the bearings it’s quite a difference. Compared to the non flipper XM-18, there is a difference, but it’s not a huge night and day difference. The blade will drop closed easily and it will flip using the flipper any way it is held and lock into place with no problems.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't really understand the 3 types of pivot systems. I mean I guess I can, but I don't like to mess with my knives very much once I have them set the way I like. I guess I'm kinda partial to the PB washers for the rigidity over the Teflon ones.

I need to try the PB washers and see how they are. I’ve just used the Teflon and now the bearings. The bearings are really nice and smooth. The knife opens so quickly and without much effort. It drops shut so easily.

That being said, there’s no way I’m going to stop using my others just because of that. The sheepsfoot one, especially. That opens just as fast with a flick of the thumb. Closing it will not drop shut like the one on bearings, but it shuts easily enough just popping the lock and pushing it down with my index finger. And, I’ve never been in a situation where having a knife drop shut like the one on bearings was needed versus the others.

The one on bearings is very nice, but I’m not going to sell of my others when they become available with bearings. Too many memories attached to those knives to sell any of them off. The sheepsfoot model especially. It was in my pocket when I took my wife to the surgeon and she was told the brain tumor she had removed is still gone with no signs of it coming back.

I just got an email from Dlt Trading. Tomorrow at 2pm Central time two Hinderer exclusives will be available. A 3.5 xm no choil spanto and a 3” no choil slicer. Both are gen 6/ triway pivot system. I am considering the 3” model.

If anyone wants the 3” slicer, the email said they will only have a limited amount of those. I wonder how quickly those will sell out. I’m not wanting either model, but I’m guessing that posting about them here the day before will make them sell quickly.

I got that email also. I'm conflicted on if I want a 3' or 3.5', or both or neither... lol, not to mention the whole CBSA aspect...

There will also be Gen 6 3.5” no choil slicers. And one will be mine.

Any rumors or thoughts on future skinny 3.5 xm18s?
As far as I can tell it was just the all titanium harpoon spanto.
A skinny slicer or skinner with a g10 show side would be just about right.

I caved and ordered one of the 3" slicers. After thinking about it, a Hinderer slicer that takes up a little less pocket space should be nice. I see some are already sold out.

ETA Wow, you can refresh the page and watch more sold out signs pop up almost every time.

Nice which color/finish did you get? I am trying resist the 3” slicer, its hard to justify it when I have a gen4 and Im not sure I care about bearings.
