Lets see some Hinderer action

Yes Hinderer has given their dealers permission to discount any non tri way pivot system knife (excluding the slippy and bali). Lots of new Tri Way stuff is in the works and will even start with new stuff before the end of the year. 2019 is going to end with a bang and 2020 is going to be nuts for Hinderer fans!

Thanks ! That's great news also for the ones of us that like the classic, non-triways ... off to do some more research :)

Hmmm Eklipse getting Tri way soon? :)

Yes Rick has publicly said the Eklipse 3.5" is in the works for 2020.

To everyone reading this while we are talking Eklipse. I highly recommend the Eklipse 3.0" Frame Lock. You know I am not just trying to get sales out of this as we only have 1 left, but other dealers have more. This is an amazing knife (almost as good as the Half Track Wharnie):D, and everyone who has bought one from us has done nothing but sing its praises. Jump on our last one or check out other dealers and pick one up. You will not regret it.

I've been on a Hinderer kick all year and don't see it stopping soon. Really hoping for more SKINNY and Sheepsfoots.

MP-1 Skinny would be awesome IMHO. What an under appreciated knife. With a diet and a thinner grind I think it would really shine.

Eklipse 3.5 Skinny. 0392 is one of my favorites, but a skinny would be a better EDC IMO.

Also looking forward to more no-choil XMs... the XM choils are useless for my big dumb hands.

I got to handle an Eklipse recently and was impressed. Made me wonder why they don't seem to get as much love as the XMs. In any event, a 3.5 Sheepsfoot will likely be my next one. I sure like that clip blade though.

I agree!! I have been away from the hinderer world for a bit and just picked up mp-1 on the exchange a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Why does it get no love?

If I am being honest there were 2 main reasons that the MP-1 did not get the love it deserved.

1. The MP-1 launched the same time as the Half Track. While the MP-1 is a great knife, the Half Track just kind of took over. It was way more different and once the market got a hold of it, it just kind of took off. Unfortunately the MP-1 got lost in its shadows.

2. Was the price point. The MP-1 launched originally in the full ti model. With full ti and all the machining it had a price point of $695. That was too high for the volume they put out on full ti models. It took Hinderer a while to launch the G10 model at $450 and once they did folks had kind of put the MP-1 out of their minds.

I am sure the MP-1 will come out again in the tri way pivot system. I think it will be a bit different and have a different blade grind. It is a great knife and when it comes out again with out other Hinderer Knives launching at the same time, it will hit the market with all the greatness that it is.

I've had a full Ti MP-1 for a while now and have been off and on with it over the year. It's quite heavy but I love the sheepsfoot blade and the way it fits my hand. I'm kind of over flippers, prefer studs or holes and while the MP-1 does have true studs I was never able to deploy the blade with them and it left a sour taste in my mouth for a while, I even wrote how I though it was 'stupid' that they were there as they were unusable. Well I must eat some crow as I finally 'got it'. I was always able to use the studs on my 3" skinny from the front or back but not my 3.5's until I got a new model 3.5 skinny. I can use the studs on that one just fine. Sooo started looking at the way I was attempting to use the studs on the other 3.5's and the MP-1 an 'Doh!' I had a finger on the lock-bar! Even just touching it was preventing the blade from launching. Now I can use the studs on all my Hinderer's and feel a little silly claiming they were unusable. The XM's are really blade stops but on the MP they are thumb studs, either way they all work just fine. I can do all my normal front and back flicks, flips now.

I do agree that the MP-1 was a bit of a reach but when I 1st saw them I was pretty intrigued, the bronze w/CF inlays is pretty nice. I don't carry it a lot but do put it in the pocket from time to time and enjoy using it, I have to cinch my belt a little or I sag on one side :)
