Lets see some Hinderer action

Nice, looks pretty sweet to me.
Is that black & red CF?

Thanks ! These are Aramis scales. He calls them "Wine Red Twill". Not sure if there is CF in them; I once compared his Silver Twill vs CF scales for a Spyderco Military, and the Silver Twill is a few grams heavier. Might contain glass instead of Carbon fiber. His work is impeccable.

Roland.

Yeah, many “twills” have no real CF in them. USA’s silver, blue & emerald green twills are all G10. I especially like twill when it is used on contoured scales, so the layering is visible.

Been meaning to get one of these holey clips for a while. Ended up removing the ano from a blue stonewashed one. Also, all hardware is de-anodized Hinderer Ti stuff. Thanks to ferider for the plug on the ti torx head clip screws from that knife supply place.

Gorgeous knife, talk about a little envy :) Is that an original grind from the Ranch ? Also, how do you de-anodize, looks like you kept the clip stone-washed.

BTW, not sure I should have given the pointer on the screws, they are sold out for a while now .... J/K. Found another source for some real pretty T8 2-56 screws: https://ticonnector.com/product/2-56-button-head-screws. You can see them on the Slicer in post #4285.

Hey, thanks a lot man! Yes that is a custom spear point 24 ground by the man himself. Saved up for a while and pulled the trigger earlier this year. For sure my grail of grails.

For removing anodization in general, I’ve been using a product called Alumabrite. It’s some pretty caustic stuff used for cleaning dirty aluminum boat hulls (I know, gnarly right?) lol
I usually cut it one to one with distilled water, and have an additional cup of distilled h20 nearby to dunk the parts in and deactivate the cleaner. Even diluted, it works quick so you want to be on the ball or it could start to dull the Ti finish. If that happens, a polish always clears it up.

Hope that helps. If you or anyone has questions, don’t hesitate.

Colin

Nice lookin’ pair of Skinny’s you’ve got there E!
I’m liking the possible salt & pepper theme to this shot. It makes both knives look pretty sweet.

thank you sir, the Black linen is going strong thanks to you! I need to clean the natural micarta and it will pop a little better, might take off the scale and clean it later.

I'm really saving for a skinny skinner and then I'll need to figure out a scale for that one, I'll wait and see what happens.

Hope your Saturday is going well!

Dawn dishwashing detergent, water and a hand brush will do wonders for removing oil/grease from the porous fibers of canvas micarta.
I don’t really do a lot of rite dyeing.
However, dyeing is a lot like creating a patina. Things will work out if, you start with a plan and continue with an open mind and positive attitude. I’m thinking both maroon or blue should work fine . I would start out with a lighter shade of your desired color first. Going darker is always much easier then trying to lighten it up.
