  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Lets see some Hinderer action

I’m a little worried about this XM-18 3.0 though because the frame lock barely engages the tang and if I push with a little force on the spine of the blade it fails. Not sure if I can adjust this somehow to correct or if my only choice is to send it for warranty repair/replacement. Any advice? I did remove the nylon washers and spacers and put the bearings in. Everything seemed to go back together correctly even the stop pin.

Has anybody heard anything about another run of left-handed knives?
If you do: please send up flares!!
I don't want to miss it!

Center the blade as good as you can. Then, use it some more, they do wear in ...

Yep my guess is that its not centered well and the blade tang is cocked a bit to the lock side.
Thanks. I did check centering before and it’s dead center. I assume the bearings don’t have to be placed facing a certain way correct?

Just send it back to Hinderer. These are high-end products and you shouldn’t settle for bs. It happens. I’ve sent knives back to them and they’re great to deal with.

Fact is, that should’ve never made it out the door. It happens.

double checked centering again today in daylight and I guess it was just slightly off to the lock side. Adjusted and now it's perfectly fine. I appreciate everyone's advice, I was really hoping I wouldn't have to send it in for service. On a positive note, it's very sharp, unlike my 3.5. Really like them both though. Great solid knives. I like the skinner blade much more than the recurve.
