Lets see some Hinderer action

If you got it new from DLT, keep receipt and box, etc., and don't worry, I suggest. Might be worth a fortune in a few years, like a misprinted coin :)

So.. I have a dilemma... my Hinderer doesnt cut that great. I have tried to clean it up as best I could on my sharp maker (kill me). But at the end of the day the geometry just, isn't great.

SO! who does regrinds on Hinderer's nowadays? 🤣
I don’t think you’re actually supposed to cut anything with them. They’re too soft and their blades are too thick.

Just supposed to keep in a drawer and pull out for occasional pics and handling.

Even fatties cut just fine.

The regular xm-18 3.5 is pretty thick behind the edge, not a good slicer I agree. I can't imagine sharpmaker to be an effective tool to reprofile/sharpen it. However, some other RHK models like xm-18 3.5 skinny, wharnie, Eklipse are very good cutters.

I'd love to have Josh at REK do a grind but he isnt taking on regrind work :'(

Jordan at DLT said he has not see something like this and neither their Hinderer guy. Could be that RHK forgot to print the horse head logo. I posted this pic before but here again. I think I'll just keep it as is.

Though rare , most makers have a knife slip through without markings. This would be my guess, although I am not sure when that configuration was 1st made.

This is from the latest DLT exclusive batch although I recall they had this model at least once back to some time ago. Interestingly it was sold out within a minute or so. I tried hard but could not get one. Already pretty much gave up but a few minutes later when I refreshed my shopping cart I saw it's still there, hence the knife now in my possession.

I checked mine from that batch and mine has the horse head on it.

Still looking for a bunch of filler tabs without clips. Impossible to find without stuff on them. These used to be commonly stocked items. H is just not making them anymore without the clips.

Have you contacted Hinderer. They put one on each knife, so they make them. The dealers just order the fancier stuff. It is where I found them many moons ago.
