Lets see some Hinderer action

I got a Project X a couple of weeks ago, and fell in love with it.

Last weekend I took it apart and cleaned it. When I put it back together, I snapped the head off of one of the screws (totally my fault, over tightened it). Needless to say, I was totally bummed. :(

I immediately sent an email to Hinderer to see if I could get another screw. They responded Monday morning and said "No problem, we'll send one out today". 5 days later and I just got 2 new screws and a standoff in the mail. Excellent customer service! 👍

Now the knife is once again complete, and all is once again right with the universe. 😁

Great to hear about the good CS experience 👍
And it looks like it could have been a lot worse if the screw got stuck in there.
Nice knife btw!

I had the liner lock insert screw fall out of my halftrack, and they made me PayPal $3 to send me one - don't recall if that was for postage only, or the screw and if I paid extra for postage, as it was too long ago.

I did the same thing to my xm 3 inch skinny and they did me the same way. I even offered to pay because it was my fault. Great people over there!

I was perfectly willing to pay for a new screw, but they just said they would send me one, and a standoff. They sent me two screws and the standoff. 🤷‍♂️

It's nice to know that if I'm dumping that kind of money on their knives (three so far: XM-18 3.5", XM-24, and Project X) that they have good customer service. Makes me feel better about my frivolous knife spending habits. 😂

Couldn’t agree more. I have 4 at the moment but I’ve lost count of the ones I’ve had. I think it’s somewhere around 13. I think I’ve had about 8 different version of the xm-18 3.5 alone 😂. Blade show is less than 2 weeks away so the number is likely to go up. I’ve heard he’s doing a hollow grind on the slicer blade for the show. Got some tough decisions to make only planning on bringing home one new knife this year got to be more responsible 🙄. I think I bought 7 or 8 at the show last year gonna be very difficult!

I was thinking about going to Blade show, but I blew all my knife funds for a while. Besides, I don't have anyone to go with. No knife buddies IRL:( (all my friends and co-workers actually think my knife hobby/obsession is crazy. They may be right 😂) and I really don't want to drive 2.5 hours to Atlanta by myself.

If you haven’t been it’s definitely worth the trip. I guess it’s easy for me to say because I live 20 minutes west of Atlanta. Most of us don’t have knife buddies IRL so don’t feel bad. If you can talk a friend into making the trip with you I can almost guarantee they would enjoy it as well. My wife could care less about knives but she enjoys going to the show with me every year. If you end up making the trip shoot me a pm I’ll be there Saturday

I've been several times, and yes it is a great time. I have taken a friend who was not into it before, and he just got bored and wanted to leave.

I may still go, I haven't decided yet. If I do decide to go, I'll let you know.

It’s a small world.
Spent Memorial Day weekend with our relatives, for nephew’s graduation.
Of all the years we’ve been going there I never knew Rick Hinderer was their neighbor.
Neighbor, as in several fields down. Huge farming area.
His son / nephew, I don’t recall, an employee through high school, was at the party.
I’m glad I found out after the fact, so as not to pester the kid about “work”

I'll second the admirable customer service. I have a relatively new Eclipse, and while disassembling and reassembling, I dropped and lost the steel lock-bar insert screw.
Emailed the company, fully admitting my stupidity, and they immediately put a replacement screw in the mail. Got it in just a few days.
