Lets see some Hinderer action

That's really cool ! Josh has done a couple of regrinds for me, but he always refused to do the 24. (worried to affect the knife closing because of where the closing stop pin is). This one is extra rare !!!
Thanks, man, that one's really special to me. Josh and I had a lot of back and forth about the grind back in 2017 before he did the work, but the location of the combination stop-pins/thumb-studs never came up. He ended up working pretty close to them too, bringing the plunge grind much higher and back a little too while increasing the width, depth. and length of the swedge, bringing it all the way back to the first blade jimp. I never thought about it before you mentioned it, but I think he must have been able to pull the stops/studs beforehand as the fine 600 grit grind lines in both the primary and swedge bevels point right at them.

The factory blade of this one seemed unusual as it was sterile save for a small "S35VN" engraved or stamped in the reverse side blade flat. Only the upper half of that mark is still visible with the higher blade grind. Josh left the flats in their original stonewash and you wouldn't find what remains of that marking if you didn't know it was there.

Josh asked if I wanted his maker's mark on the knife and told me this was the first blade to bear the new logo he had just come up with. This one is definitely a keeper.

Must be fake then .... send it to me and I'll dispose of it free of charge. .... :)

Gorgeous knife.

Thanks again, both for the compliment and your most generous offer to relieve me of such an onerous burden. 🤣 BTW, I misread your initial response in that you'd mentioned the location of the "closing stop pin". I had to get the knife back out and compare it against my Spanto XM18. The 24's closing pin is configured very differently and seems kinda odd, catching a very small amount of the forward end of the blade choil where it meets the intersection of the primary and secondary grinds. I can see where taking too much off either of those could lead a blade-play issue with the knife in the closed position. Over-sharpening there could lead to a bit of a problem with the thickness behind the edge so greatly reduced and I'll have to keep that in mind when working on that edge.

OTOH, posting here again could be viewed as just another opportunity for a gratuitous pic of this knife's gorgeous blade...

I don't mind the pic at all ! :)

AFAIK, Rick changed the location of that pin for the XM18 long time ago (with Gen3 ?), but never for the 24.

Got new flag nuts in the mail today.

Is that work safe to be showing your nuts 😂 Got a new to me PX in today, gave it a thorough cleaning and lubed up the included skiffs with KPL. Now she flips extremely well. Loving this working finish, it's a nice contrast to my stonewash PX.

I used to like SW better, but - after noticing that WF holds up better against scratches, etc., I changed preference.

Sweet knife !
