Lets see some Hinderer action

Old-timey-fication complete… at least as far as I can get for now. Wish I could get a brass pivot nut and lockbar interface screw for ultimate vintage-osity, but.

A buddy knows a guy who can probably mill a brass blade stop/thumbstud, but I dunno if I’m gonna seriously entertain that.

Hell yeah brother, looks amazing. I can't wait to get my build finished, it's at bgm right now and I am having a custom scale made with real deal vintage Westinghouse micarta. Hopefully a matching filler tab but that's TBD. I hope it comes out as well as yours

Yeah - it would look great but brass is too soft for the pivot nut. I have learnt not to disassemble/assemble brass/copper hardware too often because they get deformed very easily and quickly.

John just sent me some pictures, cant wait to get it back and cut some shtuff. Looks like it came out exactly how I imagined, working finish flats and satin grinds for some good contrast. Have some working finish hardware to install, and a bounty out for a custom scale with genuine Westinghouse vintage micarta. Hope the scales turn out how I am imagining them, ti scale is always an option. John crushed it, can't thank him enough

Quick question for the Hinderer folk: my swedged spearpoint is 9 kinds of awesome, but recently it developed an audible groan sound. The action still feels smooth upon opening, but when I close it, there’s a tiny bit of resistance and slight noise. It started when I sitting at the table, flipping it with no real intensity. Any thoughts?

I would open the knife and run a qtip between the scales and clean the detent ball and track. Then apply a small amount of oil to the detent ball. Probably just got some crud in there and dry

For anyone looking like I’ve been looking for a while, there is a Hinderer dealer that has Non-Flipper Eklipse models available. This is only the second run they’ve ever done and I beleive the Non flipper Eklipse is exclusive to this dealer.

I’m not sure I’m allowed to mention the dealers name here but a quick search and you’ll probably be able to find them.

My incoming Non Flipper Battle Black Eklipse and I already have a battle black titanium Eklipse scale ready for this one when it arrives!

I saw that, they look super clean without the flipper. I think this new release is battle black blades only, for anyone interested. I was tempted, a bgm regrind would look sick. Satin grinds and black flats, like my old zt eklipse
